I've always been a Calibur guy.

I've devoted time and money into making the Ascended Calibur and wondered if this was really the right choice, If I should make the Levi...

I have heard that the Brandishes are better, but stayed away from them because the Elemental damage was bad against Beasts and Gremlins.

I have the energy to switch to the Iceburst Brandish. Should I do so?

I love my Calibur but I chose

I love my Calibur but I chose to use a Striker since I got more used to it.
The biggest difference between the calibur and Brandish lines is the charge attack. While the Calibur line has a sexy spin, the Brandishes do a swing, followed with three explosions in a line. Also, damage types are different. Against Beasts and Gremlins, you're doing much much better with a Calibur.

You should read Bopp's sword

You should read Bopp's sword guide here

You're pure swordsman with 2 swords right?
A calibur is somewhat useless because if you carry and elemental sword and say, a piercing sword (brandish and flourish), you do at the worst neutral damage to gremlins and jellies (and neutral damage is what calibur does). With the elemental/ piercing combo, however, you are capable of dealing "critical" damage to the other 4 monster classes.

Thus, why bother with a neutral sword that does "meh" damage when you can get two specialized swords that do tons of damage on most monsters?

@Dark-Flare

I don't use two swords anymore, I have an elemental gun.

sword with elemental gun

"I don't use two swords anymore, I have an elemental gun."

The one-sword-one-gun idea is treated in the Sidearms section of my sword guide, which Dark-Flare has already graciously mentioned above.

Brandish all the way!

The Brandish line is by far the most OP line in the game. In regards to the gremlin problem, you got the Acheron which deals shadow dmg. Problem solved. I phased out all my Avenger/ Faust lines for the Brandish line instead. Completely different game

Brandish line is not OP. Each weapon has it's pros and cons. The con to the Brandish line is little or no knockback on regular swings. The niche of it is the charge, and I luckily have CTR High and ASI Medium on my Glacius, so I can vouch that the charge is superb.
