Can you only trade energy you buy (with real money) to get crowns? Because I have 100 energy (the daily kind) and it won't let me trade that for crowns.

That would be Mist Energy.

That would be Mist Energy. Mist Energy cannot be traded.

You need Crystal Energy in order to trade for crowns.

CE marketing

Unless you plan on spending several dozen dollars on CE to pay your way into better equipment like a sissy, the best way to profit as a new player while getting yourself better equipment is to horde CE until you have a full 5* loadout to use. Be sure to use your mist for Clockworks expiditions. When your mist is empty hang around the auction area and wait for someone to offer to sell CE less than the current market price, which you should be watching while you are standing there. Do not advertise that you are buying CE for less than the market price. It makes you look stupid. When/If you manage to accumulate some CE save it for upgrading your equipment. When upgrading for 3*+ wait until your mist is as close to full as possible, meaning a hundred unless you are about to have your fingers chopped off and have to upgrade immediately.

Ah, the folly of youth....

I remember the first time I waited for 100 mist to charge up, looking forward to making MEGA BUCKS at 4000 crowns for it (yeah, way back then). I mean, think of the 2* gear I could buy with 4k! And then to find out:

YOU CAN'T DO THAT.

The energy market is CE only. You put in CE, or you get out CE. but not mist. Mist only ever ever works on your knight, you can't give it to anyone else. But, if you keep playing, someday you'll have enough crowns to buy CE. and you'll save that CE. and then the price will go even higher, and you may sell that CE for crowns. But until then, enjoy the mist!

ME can actually be used to buy things from the Supply Depot, so it can be cheaper. Otherwise, you're spot on.

And @Meekish, it was a simpler time. Ah remember when it was just yestuhday, when energeh was three and even two thousand crowns fer evereh hundred. Now all these "pro-feshonals" use it as a measure a' worth! What happened to them good ol' fashioned times, when Vatel still had his shop, the Citadel wasn't the only part o' Tier 3 that mattered, and the Auction House had that god-awful interface... Actually, it's not all bad.

Actually I think it was 4k before the AH existed! I remember all the rants about it skyrocketing to 6k. Ah, simpler times indeed. But now I can grind FSC, so all good.

I wasn't saying you can't use mist to buy things! you sure can! Just not to buy crowns. Yes, if I'm buying something from supply depot like an upgrade slot, I wait until I have 100 mist. Yes that means not playing for a day, but with my schedule there's usually a couple of those days. So, I use the mist, save myself 100 ce that way, and wait until tomorrow to do clockworks.

Sorry. My mistake. To be honest, I didn't think it was possible to use Mist to buy things from Kozma until a couple of days ago.

A key point to keep in mind:

A key point to keep in mind: if you are buying something from the game (i mean, not trading with another player), any time the fee is in energy, it ALWAYS takes your mist first. Whatever you have in your tank, is spent first. THEN your CE. So saving up mist before buying is always a good idea in my opinion.
