Tier 3 gear?

So I've been able to go into T3 for around a week, but haven't because I'm not sure my gear checks out. Currently I have the following:
Helm: Wyvern Scale
Armor: Ash Tail Coat/Silvermail
Shield: Stone Tortoise/Wise Owlite
Weapon 1: Divine Avenger
Weapon 2: Dread Venom Striker
Weapon 3: TBD
I was wondering if that would be enough to do a successful solo run or most of a solo run. Also, is it true that almost no monster deals Normal damage in T3?

I think I heard somewhere
I think I heard somewhere they deal pure damage in T3, no element. No idea havent really thought to care for it.

All monsters continue dealing
All monsters continue dealing mostly normal damage with most attacks, they just all gain attacks that are also "pure".
All of your gear needs Normal defense. Always, forever.
Just try for yourself. You will see what adjustments you need.
