This is not a suggestion. It is a command.

YOU WILL NOT NERF MY DEVILITES, or ANYTHING ELSE for that matter. They are one of the few monsters untouched by the nerf hammer. Greavers fell victim to the nerf hammer; however, not badly. In fact, their mist used to be a sort of a cheap attack. Possibly a necessary nerf. Regardless, easier, and it affected my fiend level running.

By the way, I am no longer hoping that the Danger Missions are good. I am expecting them to be. You have to make them good to make up for the fact that this game has been dumbed down by a mission button, making the Arcade (how this game was originally designed and how it was supposed to be like) sort of not the real challenging part of this game, since there will not be a "danger mission" option in the arcade (I don't think danger rooms really count....).

I am only playing this game atm because there is one thing left that I like to do: Run candlestick / devilite levels / dark cities in the arcade. And I feel like that isn't much, and I am just barely hanging on here. I pray that the nerf hammer won't smash my hand that is barely hanging onto this game.

Now I swear that every other thread I used to make got moved somewhere I didn't want it to be moved -.-

I realize that this is the General DISCUSSION forum, and I am going to make this a DISCUSSION, so that another one of my threads will not be moved for the 50234902398475th time.

So, with that said: How has this game getting crushed by the nerf hammer affect what you think of this game?

+1

Autotracking enemies were all hit hard. Back when I was noob, the big wolvers tore me apart, and forced me to learn how to deal with them. None of that right click ftw carp with wolvers.

Let's hope kats won't be nerfed, and have their dash and attacks slowed down.

Yes, in some way I do agree

Yes, in some way I do agree that some things are nerfed too much or too many times. But, I believe that the devs will NEVER make changes without thinking twice (or even a hundred times). They will only change stuff when it is necessary, not because it's simply a player's demand. So, try to understand the developers' tasks; it's just not easy to be a developer... Well, why do I say that? The developers have to please the gamers AND the main director (or anyone in charge of the whole thing) AT THE SAME TIME. It's very stressful, and I mean VERY. Just hang on there and see if the Danger Missions really turn out well.

"Let's hope"

Demonic, let us no longer hope, we shall COMMAND! :D

They WILL NOT nerf them. They are NOT ALLOWED TO!! xD

@Snow, yeah I agree

Usually they try to please the majority > minority, even if that means making the game hello kitty island adventure. The issue here is that so little people care about things other than vana spammin' and accessory jammin' <.< they don't like it when they die, whereas some gamers find that it is required for a game to let them die occasionally. They actually like dying. It means they have to progress.

Shadow lairs require us to progre..... OOPS. Guess the devs made a mistake making their game good. Let's throw in shadow keys and take out that progression: let's get the majority to get a super amazing group to ensure that they win to get their costume and never run them again x)

At least when the majority complained about the fiends / alphas / whatevers being too difficult in the past, OOO had the minority to always yell the loudest and defend OOO for making their game fun and challenging.

Rawrcake, wait till you are truly pressured by assignments and research projects in college, client requirements during your work, and overloaded work from your boss. Then you shall have the right to command, like a boss. Until then, please (just please) don't exploit the devs.

Without them, we will not be here, and you will not even be able to write in this forum.

I said that that would be my last post / thread ever on Spiral Knights.

This isn't Spiral Knights, it is currently hello kitty island adventures.

I remember when this was Spiral Knights. And that was when it was not quite as dumbed down, before the missions and before all that other stuff I listed in that one thread that I explain why it was dumbed down that I am too lazy to find.

"Until then, please (just please) don't exploit the devs."

Although I have received several warnings for things similar to this, in the end I am really just joking around and I will probably be playing this game for quite a while, unless they totally decided to remove Arcade.

Trust me whining loud gets you somewhere. Ask me and Happyapathy + other minority Forum Goers willing to spam threads about gunners, it wasn't too difficult getting some gunner changes for the better. I don't see why whining loud to get other changes for the better is so shunned. Like... even ask the pet spammers. There was a survey dedicated to them.

I agree with OP besides

I agree with OP besides candlestick / devilite levels / dark cities there's not too much really challenging content in the game anymore (besides the Shadow Lairs) and I actually like doing those with the given difficulties :)

I still find Danger Rooms really challenging, even if I have perfect gear. Most of the time, I'm stuck in a corner with 2 pips of health, using every trick I can think of to postpone death for another few seconds.

Whats that? Did I hear something about Danger Missions?

I'd like to add on to what

I'd like to add on to what Snowdusk is saying. Wait until you have a job. Family members wanting some of your time. Duties around the house. Other hobbies besides gaming. You won't be able to dedicate twelve hours a day to beating one specific challenge, and extreme difficulty will frustrate you. Then you will understand why Nintendo Hard is a bad thing.

Nope

Devilites needs a swift stomp from the Nerf Hammer. I got a 100 ME and I ain't chewing it all up to gain some "skill" dodging office furniture.

Kurowolfe
Erm...

I can't really say much, because since I lag a lot, I never really get to do anything when I got mowed down by the devilites and katz and at the same time, I couldn't even put up my shield in time. (and no, I'm not here to complain about lag and whatnot, because it's a fact that I have to live with and accept if I wanted to continue playing this game)

In the end, devs are also human beings, and their decisions will not satisfy everyone. And with more than 3 million players, I think the fact that they even try to fix the game to make everyone happy is quite commendable. So I'll stick with whatever the devs have decided, be it Hello Kitty Island Thingamajiggy Whatever. We can always voice our opinions, but they have the final say.

inb4 someone pounces on me and tears off my limbs for showing support to the devs. X3

After thinking for a moment,

After thinking for a moment, I realise we're actually perpetuating around only one single subject: the difficulty of the game. So from now on, don't talk about the devs, the devilites or whatsoever. It's about OVERALL game difficulty. You may ask, is the game being modified to become easier and easier? I will give you this answer: yes and no. Why I said yes is because certain aspects are difficult in an unnecessary way, meaning that the it can be excluded, or made easier (for example, increasing handgun and bomb damage output). Why I said no is that the devs are still introducing difficult elements in this game. Long ago, the creation of the Candlestick Keep levels is an example. There are lots more, like in certain missions and the OPC. The devs also mentioned that they're going to make Danger Missions, which comes in extreme difficulties.

My point is, basically we have options to choose. We can go for "the easy mode" of the game, or "the hard mode". Therefore, newbies won't feel too overwhelmed when they enter the Clockworks, and at the same time, the hardcore players can take on the hard challenges available. Just be aware of what the entire game has to offer, don't just concentrate on a specific area; you'll never be satisfied this way.

Well...

It doesn't seem that raising A Big stink is doing me too much... I'd like some BALANCE... But I seem to be the only one yelling about it....

Brrr... What a cold lonely wind that blew through here.

I Personally think the Game is too easy... Even with Crap gear.

Run Stratum 6 CSK with Level 6 Sera helm, level 4 Ancient plate, level 7 Faust, and Level 10 Volc Pepper and Swifty. Charge spamming the Faust, and killing howlitzers with the VP's normal shots... Not to mention it was a Fire CSK back to back with a Shock one.

Not a SINGLE death. WITH FRIGGAN CURSE SPAM.

They are taking so much time on the Danger Missions that if they aren't actually a challenge I will be very disappointed too. And I really hope that if there is a "tier 4" all mobs have those "original attacks" like Retrodes/Zombies and its big arm swipe, Wolvers tracking, etc.

That wasn't the point he was making. The point he was making is that I should not have been commanding the devs to do something. Which I should not have, it was more a joke on my part so that they couldn't put it in the suggestion forums since it was a command xD

However, it does not need to be in suggestion forums because this is in fact a discussion. Woot.

anyways, let's pretend you used those words in your own and you made your own point. You said "other hobbies besides gaming". This means we both agree that gaming is a hobby. There are other hobbies for you, that are more fitting in your schedule. Not gaming. Nobody ever said gaming was made for you and your schedule.

If you are working + have a job, that doesn't mean that you don't like your video games challenging. You assumed that all people that work like hello kitty island adventures.

Saying all people who have a job want hello kitty island adventures because their real life and having to work is just soooooo tiring and difficult, that is just wrong. I know many people that only have time to play on certain days of the week, and they never told me "hey, let's go play hello kitty island adventure". Instead, they are currently playing games like D3 and still have time to raid WoW hardmodes with us.

First of all, you don't create the game around people that have jobs. You don't go "oh, well these people are only free on a tuesday, so we are no longer going to have tuesday maintence". No, they could care less if you can only play on maintence day (there is not a maintence day for this game I am aware).

Second, this isn't a freaking rubix cube we are making. It isn't going to take 12 freaking hours to beat one challenge.

I am aware you were exaggerating, but I have the feeling you built your argument around rubix cube-like challenging. We don't want rubix cube challenging.

All we are saying is bring back our tracking monsters and make it so monsters aren't biting air. Make it so that bosses that are new, like Seerus when OCH came out, cannot just be plowed over in the first attempt. Unnerf enemies by buffing them as they should be, like retrode health and zombie swipe speed.

Let us die occasionally....

Rawrcake is a man (woman?) after my own heart. Game needs more of a challenge.

Leave T1 and T2 as they are, but in T3 I should have to be on my toes, not just going through the motions.

I'm pretty sure that this

I'm pretty sure that this game is still very hard for some people. My sister has trouble with T2 for example.

Also who is "we"? "Rubix-cube-challenging" would be great. I don't think it's ever taken me 12 hours to solve one though.

I agree that Devilites do not

I agree that Devilites do not require a nerf. Greavers are currently harder for me anyway, but I think they're fine too. I have been fine with most nerfs, such as Retrodes, but the Alpha Wolvers one was a bit of a shame, as now the Beast monster category is completely laughable. I'd like to see more enemies added to the Beast category some day to make them a bit more intimidating. The other categories are mostly fine, I think.

Huh....

Actually Garlic... I laugh at CSKs when solo... even duo. Of course... *whips out RSS* this baby helps me through ANYTHING.

Shardspamming ftw... and when the shards seem to be failing... whip out my Jalovec. I sidestep almost everything in a CSK. Devilites give me lagspikes for some odd reason.

Edit: I'll be honest... it's just the fact that I got past the big dark fuzzballs of chomp-chomp (see Grimalkins) and just walked AROUND them. Kats still annoy me some... but howlitzers can't last when I have RSS on the field.

I'm sure there's a trick to the devilites I don't know yet... apart from reducing lag trauma.

spam polaris into devilites.

spam polaris into devilites. You'll laugh.

There are so many wolver clones that will sit here and say this is a bad idea and a FF is better, so I am not going to explain why Polaris so useful against them just 'cause I like my stupid wolver clones stupid and uninformed :)

But polaris is too much of a swordy weapon for me to use when I'm gunning devilish drudgery levels... I just wanna use my calla and pew pew.

With the damage numbers turned off, of course.

But yes, polaris surprisingly effective, as long as you aren't a derp and can fan your shots out.

Candlestick Keep is probably

Candlestick Keep is probably the hardest ordinary level for me too. Although a lot of the time it's not bad on solo, I'm just not good when it comes to carrying others who can't hold their own too well on Candlestick. :P

I enjoy Polaris for devilites too. Although my main weapon of choice for them is Blitz Needle, nowadays.

Serell's picture

...

Blitz is even good against devilites. Friend and I were helping a guildee through a fiend mission, and my friend was mowing down all those devilites like.... something o.o
Don't know if blitz would be good solo, though xD

I just like to pew pew em with my Calla... with damage numbers turned on :3

I consider split second unblockable attacks "cheap", actually.

Yeah, blame it on me living so damned far away from the server, but I'll still have it as that.
