I just tested The Legion of Almire Tier 3, and I found it very enjoyable. It was definitely challenging, and revives were used in both runs. However, it didn't feel cheap, aside from the times that my connection lagged out, which was probably not a fault of the game. To put it simply, it seemed difficult, but fair. The Almirian Solider enemies may have been a little too easy, but I don't consider it a large balancing issue. The exploding zombies were the most difficult opponent to deal with, but didn't present an impossible to overcome challenge, and having to use the gates to block them during large battles added a nice layer of strategy.

I also enjoyed fighting Slag Guards in this level, and it was especially cool seeing them use their Resurrection Ring. This made them a great, but very fun challenge, both because of their ability to resurrect closeby enemies and their charge attack.

I would say the difficulty was comparable to Firestorm Citadel and Shadow Lair Gloaming Wildwoods (the two most advanced levels I've done so far). It was certainly more difficult than most, if not all ordinary levels, and the battles were on-par with Danger Rooms or Undead Arenas. One thing me and the people I ran it with noticed however, is that on the second level, party members could go ahead and start a battle while others are still loading the level. Here, a party switch might be a good thing to add.

The payout was fair too. I know it is not indicative of the final payout, but I do enjoy it at this level and hope that the final crown total either matches or exceeds this amount. If not, then that's okay, though I believe 2500 as a minimum payout would be fair.

Overall, I enjoyed this mission and I'm looking forward to more Danger Missions. It was a lot of fun. :)

Now this is what I like to hear!

Currently can't log on because of a steam issue but can't wait until I can see this stuff ^.^

Oh, if I had to give one

Oh, if I had to give one minor criticism, it would be the voice clip when Exploding Zombies are about to explode. It doesn't really seem to be very fitting with the normal zombie voice, and sounds a bit jarring.

my first run through the new level-set :)

im just testing the tier3 version solo to begin with..
so far .. graphicaly.. camera angles in lobby (and in rest of levels i know now) looking nice...
i like the detail so far.. the graveyard ...well.... one of my favourite level-sets graphics also ! ;D
the first new enemys i see..are..the bomb !!! ..brilliant :)
i always tend to rss-bomb undead in graveyard...so its great fun with the new ones...
stand on grave.. wait to see what comes out ..then boom !!.. and run ;D
im glad that there are more areas in the first graveyard..where it just spawns/awakes a load of undead..all at once ;)
the new phantom-model style guards... are nice...look brilliant.. (its all quite a fresh feeling in here)
polaris also works nicely as ever vs cats etc ;) rss-bombs for undead..(i re-built a setup simelar to my normal server setup for vs feinds here apart from no UVs ;D)
screen seems darker... and more spooky.. (that might just be a general graveyard update i havent noticed before..but..also..it looks good)
the area were the 2 lumbers apear... i found v.easy polaris bottle-neck area by.. using classic tactic... walk backwards to were i entered the place :) but..still cool :)
first new "biggy" i see... he`s cool... the classic manouver i do ..rss drop and dodge tactic works fine with him, the "totem twist" is a good manouver.. me and friend thought you had done that in last vanaduke update...then were disapointed ;D ..but now.. it exists ! good work ;)

on the second level down in t3 now...
graphicaly ..looks great.. path choice..very interesting :)
the 4 cat-sort of looking totem things.. for putting on switches (i always forget their real name!..Duk`s? or something?) "
collecting area is great fun...good fresh manouver there, great fun runing around with the things..dodging the explosions and placing on the 4 switches at top :)
the last 2 arena style rooms..are great fun..and as ever ..yup.. rss-bomb..i found easiest way to handle them :)
cryptic crypt..lovely looking place ;)

only thing i would say is... only 80prestige ? surely at least 100 for T3 would be nice for it (but..i would still play it daily as im sick of vanaduke these days, only go in vanaduke for cr every-so-often now)
i think difficulty-wise... its good.. an interesitng new inbetween.. daily harder levels to play :D..and great enemys to go against :)
all the new enemys.. are..brilliant btw ! ;D

all in all.. a really nice addon :) (and it just so happens.. i have a v.nice setup to use in there..when released to the public server)

..i`ll be heading in with a friend for test run 2 in a bit ;) ;)...
...and thank you developers for this new content...it really is a breath of fresh air for me to see !! :) x

My Experience:

Now, I found everyone else's take on this as wonderful. When I did it, I was under timed circumstances as I had work very soon so I rushed through most. Solo no less, and I must admit, even as I escaped most of the enemies, I could tell that if I was truly taking this seriously, this would be challenging but capable of being done. As I said, I was on a rush so I excessively rushed through most of it. Its unfortunate that I will be working the entire time the testing is going on but I will definitely be looking foward to this new challenge.

I really like the new enemy

I really like the new enemy types. The slag guard with resurrection ring is a clever twist, and the kamikaze zombies are a good solution to the problem of graveyards that would otherwise feel too slow. More interesting than phantoms actually. The Almirian mini guards have an interesting mix of fight mechanics, though I hope that their death sound (the same as for players) will be changed. It's very confusing.

Overall, I'd offer two main suggestions:
1. The exploding zombies are fun, and they show up in some clever traps. But they also seem to respawn very quickly, partly in areas with many spawn pads. Throw in the high movement speed (by itself a good feature), and kamikaze zombies can become overwhelming.

2. Kiting is a very feasible strategy; my gunner comrade barely took any damage despite lacking shadow defense. Throw in a freezing bomb, and this will become the new de facto farming level, hands down. I like seeing difficulty rewarded.... But to keep any one level from driving the exchange at the expense of the new player experience, it would be nice to see the gap addressed in some other way, like reducing the crown payout in return for token rewards, like some new form of accessory.

^ +1

I agree with the suggestion above. In the one arena with the exploding zombies, I see a constant flood of them as they respawn a little too quickly. Combine that with the fact I had a the guard on my tail, it was a constant fact that corners were not safe. I would recommend though, in return, they have a larger blast radius. I felt like I was dealing more with a small hand grenade than a real bomb. This way it would come with a better risk and reward. I would love to see them used against each other in the sense of shield bouncing them into the enemy.

I agree

I agree with alot of whats been said already. It's a challenging level but fun. The zamikaze zombies did spawn way to fast. if you slow down at the rate they spawn it will balance out the area's I found annoying. maybe even make them so instead of blowing up on their own you have to hit them before they just blow up. The big guys are interesting. I would prefer a smaller res circle on them or if you have 2 spawn in an area make it a time where there are not other res-idols around. I ran the level solo so I found it very annoying. All in all it's a challenging level and would love to play in the real game with my friends.
