It's Official , CE is now over 8K per 100 Units .

So there it is, all of you that wanted the prices to go higher, you got it.
Which only puts the f2p players in an awful predicament, Leave the game , and maybe return if the CE market would ever return to normal levels.
OK , so those that leave, are quickly replaced by a "new" influx of players, but by then the vicious cycle repeats, at which i see more and more players falling off like domino's. Unless there is a drastic attempt to entice players back into the game, otherwise not likely.
At which my optimism is overshadowed by those that are greedy, that somehow control the market by using tactics that would raise CE prices regardless of what promotion is currently in place, regardless of what is offered, the trend is undeniable, at which you can expect to see CE at best 8500 per 100 Units even 9K.

So there it is.

Do you really think we need

Do you really think we need another CE thread?
Edit: looks like Demonicsothe got to it before me.

Lolol, it's been at 8K for a week and a half, doofus.
Though I wouldn't expect much from the guy who made a whole thread about begging people for their items when the leave the game.

Let me show you how wrong you

Let me show you how wrong you are:
"It's Official , CE is now over 8K per 100 Units ."
- It's been over 8k for about a week and half, as Rangerwillx is Trying to tell you (Punny for those who get it ;o)

"Which only puts the f2p players in an awful predicament"
-Edit: Sorry for confusing post: I was merely saying that P2P aren't constantly buying CE, and they usually like having CE lower is they had exchanged for crowns.

"...if the CE market would ever return to normal levels."
-It's an ever-changing economy that's run by the players. There is no "normal level" because it changes based on the status and time of the game.

"OK , so those that leave, are quickly replaced by a ""new"" influx of players"
-The ones you see leaving are the loud forumers who make up little percent of the game's actual playerbase. This has been mentioned several times. People are leaving, but not as many as those who are staying and/or joining at the time.

"Unless there is a drastic attempt to entice players back into the game, otherwise not likely."
-You're saying SK is about to die, but it isn't. This "drastic attempt" can be summarized in the plans the Game Masters have written out, including future Guild Improvements, New Combat Features, New Gear, and even Danger Missions (which are in testing).

"At which my optimism is overshadowed by those that are greedy, that somehow control the market by using tactics that would raise CE prices regardless of what promotion is currently in place, regardless of what is offered, the trend is undeniable, at which you can expect to see CE at best 8500 per 100 Units even 9K."
-I laughed when you wrote about your optimism and those that are greedy, after reading this thread and your's about getting quitters' stuff. Anyways, selfishness is human vice that a majority have, but you can't say that lots of players strived to do this. No, there was a wall of 3,000 offers in the market discussed by Gwen in another thread at about 8k that makes it really difficult to get lower. Don't expect 9k, as Danger Missions will be released beforehand and people aren't stupid enough to allow sellers to get 9k for 100 CE. People will just not buy, and sellers will be forced to lower their demands.

"" do not read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.""
-I don't even...

Overall, don't spam the forums. I see so many topics lately with such nonsense from the same people, and it makes me lose faith.

Stop being morons.

P2P players are also affected, in that they're not spending thousands of dollars daily, getting lots of CE. They rather spend, on occasion usually, making it still annoying for them as well. They have a very similar, if not the same, predicament.

Not yet Kamen, not yet.

Not yet Kamen, not yet. :C

There's a decent-sized CE wall at 8500 right now, but it will probably be gone by tomorrow morning. The 8495 one is going down pretty fast.

The danger mission wont change CE prices a whole lot if it isn't raised from the < 3K it is at now.

@gingermace: i got way more

@gingermace: i got way more than 3k from the danger mission and even 3k are a damn lot for 2 depths not to mention the loads of sparks which you can count as 100 each.

For ppl who just say "it's not worth the time farming anymore": go maw a lawn for 1-2 hours, get 10$, give them to OOO in exchange for 3.5k CE, you are happy and the devs can buy food to eat.

for those who say "but i am f2p for live!": I don't feel bad for you. I'm sure you'd spend 10 bucks for going to a movie to have fun for 2 hours, mow much fun have you had with SK? ;)

and yeah, I'll definately make over 9000 jokes, although 9K per 100CE are a lot.

"Normal is relative"

I read a passage in a book, and every time I see a thread like this I think of it. It doesn't apply to CE, but translated into SK-speak it would be like...

"They (the new players) are born into a world where CE prices are high... and not having risen for 5k... those are the ones who are without fear."

Of course 'fear' could be a better word, and there will always be the complainers, but what I am trying to say is that those who joined when CE is 8k will view it as 'normal', while those who joined when CE was 5-6k will see it as 'expensive'. Sorry if I confused y'all ._.

Your citations:

1) I am one of those who spend occasionally. Depending on whether there be a sale or necessary amount is required for crafting and I just don't wanna pay for CE with crowns. Simpler in my book. But again, that is maybe two 10 buck packages of CE? But I can vouch that was the typical case for most of Guild (before the collapse).

3) Remember that guy who stepped up for about a week and sold CE for 4000 each day for a certain amount of time? Still looking for his thread but I know its somewhere in here.

25,189,427 ÷ 3,000,000 = 8.4 hours on average per account.

1) Spending habits have absolutely nothing to do with the price or amount of CE. If 1000 people buy $2.50 worth of CE to put on the market or 1 person puts $2500 of CE on the market, the result is identical. The real issue is the market control having $2500 of CE gives you, in terms of putting up walls.
2) Only four people have quit in the entirety of Spiral Knights lifetime? That's a pretty good churn rate.
3) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inflation
Boiling down an entire economic downturn on selfishness is a moot point if everybody is selfish, because the only reason you would want the CE price to be lower is so you don't have to put as much effort into earning your Crystal Energy without paying for it. There's also nothing to say that paywalls with large amounts of CE aren't a co-ordinated effort by a group of people, since adding offers of a similar value stacks them regardless. It's more likely that the availability of Crowns after the botched King of Ashes update steadily bought out all of the lower CE offers until they ended up sitting around 7.5k and it progressed from there after the free elevator weekend.
4) 3 million accounts in 2 years. Not 3 million individual players, not 3 million players who made it past the rescue camp, not 3 million knights who accessed the exchange and bought CE. It's an empty number and represents no real value to the discussion. It doesn't even address the point in question that more players are joining and paying money than they are leaving.

i feel old reading this...

people calling ce cheap at 5k is just reminding me how long i've been playing...
2.5k cr for 100 ce was normal when i joined, 9k would be impossible. people raged and didn't buy it when it got to 3.2k...

i miss all the cheapskates like me.
