Every time I play spiral knights after a while it freezes and leaves my computer desktop...well...look old.

Clean Up
Disc clean and defrag . Before and after ye play is good.
Close ALL programs on your Task Bar other than one's that let ye know the machine works.. winks.
Turn off scheduled update seekers for programs that automatuically look every little while!
Set others to work when ye sleep/at work/school etc..
Close and reopen the client during long sessions.
Been Frozen in Time for Years!
Close the client every hour or so with task manager.
