If we break the in game market, it will totally rewrite the way that basic economics works and magically "fix everything", right?
I just had this great idea
Good.
Meanwhile I have a better idea. It's quite simple, really....
"Stop screwing with the bloody market."
There, problem solved. Prices will slowly stabilize, 3Rings releases new content or promos that reduce prices until they are manageable and fair, everyone is happy.
+1 for OP
i agree, EVERYONE LISTEN UP! LET'S ALL STOP PLAYING SPIRAL KNIGHTS FOR 3 WHOLE DAYS! I WANT EVERYONE TO STOP PLAYING SK; IF WE DO THIS FOR 3 DAYS THEN THE MARKET WILL BECOME BALANCED! When we come back after those 3 days, it's basically us ourselves rerolling the market.
It'd be easier of Three Rings did ta reboot on the CE market, starting from zero crs = 100 energy. A smarter idea is when the game is updating patches & does those reboots, how about the CE market reboots as well? It restarts to zero crowns for 100 energy where then we'll start putting crowns for energy.
ANY BETTER IDEAS FOR BALANCING THIS GAME FOR AL PLAYERS & NOT JUST FSC LURKERS?!? MM?
But we have to remember that we(forums) are a small minority, and most of the people who are screwing up the market wouldn't see the solution...
Just kill elevator & crafting costs and erase shadow keys. Problem solved and everyone can make a market where customization of the Knights is P2P mostly.
But that can only be made by OOO, so...
Ive said this many times on other posts, the purpose of OOO isn't to make SK an enjoyable game for everyone, although they may want that as a sub-goal. The reason SK exists is because of game sharks, people who spend hundreds a month on MMORPGs. Therefore OOO only cares about those who spend money, so why would they ever reset the CE market?
Even if 'everyone' didn't play SK for 3 days, why would anything change? Yes, I do agree OOO would try to take some form of action, but it most certianly wouldnt be toying with their source of $. Without $ Sk wouldn't exist, and several peoples purposes of life would diminish.
The elevator pass gave fear to Three Rings that it would unbalance the market/ the CE buyers would be the ones that would be happy since 4k for 100 CE is awesome! But somewhere along the line of letting the pass stay unlimited for purchase, apparently 3Rings were over thinking the situation & the opposite happened.
Most of us saw the elevator pass as something that would totally unbalance the CE market because paying 6$ for unlimited game time for 1 month would surely lower demand for crystal energy. Three Rings was afraid that the pass would disrupt the market because of the low demand & so they had debates of whether to leave the pass unlimited for purchase or just a limited amount of time that they can be purchasable. People are playing for profit & not actual game play which is why players are staying f2p. The pass did a small impact but nothing too harmful to the market. (my opinion)
Well the pass was suppose to affect both f2p & p2p. I used to be f2p but switched to p2p because of the passes. Another theory I think is that the pass would have broken the market & the game itself would have to change the CE market/should have been removed etc since Pass > CE. But like I've said, people play for profit & not game play.
P2P aren't happy because they know they could be getting more crowns for their CE if they manipulated it.
CE price rises because people want it, and they want it fast. "Me first!" "No, me first!" Hence the price rises. Otherwise everyone will just queue their buy orders at the same price and wait for them to be processed. CE price will be more of less the same. Of course shill bidding is a serious factor here as well.
The only thing that will drop CE price is a serious crown sink that P2P wants. A sink that they will need constantly as the game moves on.
A sink that will make P2P thinks "Me first!". Currently the only huge crown sinks are UV rolling and auctions (including player and featured). Both are limited - the urgent need for crowns stop once you have the UV/item.
Although we would factor a crown sink, at this point , it would be of little significance.
I completely agree, 3 rings ONLY cares about 1 thing, the bottom line, Let's face it, In this game,
although as much say that it's just a game,
It is in fact a game, So I will see you all around the havens strolling to and fro.
For the simple reason that CE will continue to rise at staggering prices never-ever seen before,
there is some ray of hope on the horizon, those market people with such tremendous greed,
have started a trend, that will have long-term implications, and only then , that's were 3 rings will finally intervene,
cause it's hurting their bottom line.
Fehzor, there was thread that asked all rich ppls to cash the amrket and kinda said I would help.. wanna join? Personally I think this is quite a good idea.
This thread actually refers to the threads about "Lets prevent rich people from putting up walls by rewriting the energy depot".
I noticed that most of the cooler forum goers were creating threads wanting the devs to "fix the economy" by placing some strange restriction on the energy market, and I wanted in on the action.
Everyone would take a step back and remember that SK is JUST a video game. This game isn't REQUIRED in order for people who play the game to live. It's not oxygen, food, or water. It's a game. With that said, OOO is a business who hosts this game. And in order for OOO to maintain this game, they have to have man power, and man power requires real money. Therefore, OOO needs money. They get their money by selling CE. After they sell the CE to players, the players are free to use/sell their ce in ANY way they choose.
If you force people to sell their ce for a low price, people would feel that buying CE from OOO is pointless, and the influx of CE into the game's economy would cease. Then prices are really going to soar.
The best thing for OOO is to do is to stop rewarding crs for missions. This would force people back into arcade and reduce the spamming of Vana and the other boss missions. On the downside, we wouldn't be as rich anymore. But that's the price for low priced CE.
