So I'm a bit curious,
I currently play a bomber but I can't help how attractive the Magic armor sets look (I love Mages and magic of sorts)
So out of curiosity, Does the Magic set belong to a certain weapon class? (Gun, sword, bomb)
Is there a specific use for the Magic set, which is why it's not a super common armor set worn?
last question...Is it a GOOD set?

Thanks for the help! :)

Magic is a decent set, divine for FSC, grey feather for general elemental, and chaos is the offensive. Seeing you are a bomber, if you are thinking of getting it, chaos is best cause the set gives you a medium CTR with the full set, and a nice medium damage bonus as well. Meaning if you get a 5* CTR and damage trinket, you could still be a good bomber but with more elemental defence. Watch out for the status weaknesses though.

Thanks!

Though mind you I have no problem in switching my weapon style as I can just make another knight.
But thanks for the help! :)

Mad Bomber is the same, but gives 2 meds instead of 2 lows for bombs.
You can always wear a magic set on top as costume, but have demo on the inside.

@Chaos Set

Well, that's the thing with Chaos Set - it gives bonuses for all weapons, so it's perfect if you say, carry a variety of weapons and switch between them. Trinkets can help decide which ones you want to 'focus' on.

For example, in PVE, I might carry a sword, two guns, and vortex. If I carry a sword and gun damage trinket, both can be equally buffed to VH damage, and everything else (my vortex included) gets a total VH CTR.

Other times, I might carry the vortex specifically as a support weapon and use two gun/sword damage trinkets with Chaos to get max damage bonus on either kind of weapon.

Of course, I could do the same thing for bombs, but I don't really have an offensive bomb to do that with.

btw

you don't have to change your knight to switch "classes," you can literally just change weapons XD

The most important

The most important consideration when choosing a loadout is to look cool and have fun. Those are both personal and subjective, and we can't offer advice. If you like The Magic set, run with it!

The Grey Feather set has the best defense against elemental damage out of any armor in the game, along with a pair of very useful resistances. Shock is everywhere in PVP, Fire is everywhere in FSC, and until recently Elemental and Normal damage were the two most common and scary damage types. However, the set has no offensive bonuses. Conventional wisdom is that Dodging > Defense, and armor with no offensive boosts is a huge missed opportunity.

Because there is Normal damage even in Tier 3, wearing the full Divine set isn't usually recommended. It's very interesting when you pair the Divine Veil with the Skolver Coat, which gets you protection from all 4 damage types and the worst 4 statuses, and some damage bonuses. Having specialized gear for every situation is great, but 5* stuff is really expensive. If you're completely uninterested in swords, you could also use the Mercurial Mail, or something more boring like Azure Guardian or Ironmight.

The Chaos set is interesting, because it grants two Low bonuses to three weapons, instead of one Medium to one. The math is a bit odd. If you are only using bombs, the Mad Bomber set eats your lunch. If you are using your bombs for status effects and not damage, Volcanic Demo might be better. If you have a bomb and a gun, but don't use the gun's charge attack, one piece of Shadowsun and one piece of Mad Bomber would be better. It's a good set, and useful, but less than 'optimal' unless you have a very specific loadout. And don't mind being set on fire a lot.

If you notice in the hall of heroes, the devs have sorted the gear for us.

We've got the class gear, which consists of wolver, bomber, and gunslinger like armors.
We've got the defense vs [damage type here], which consists of magic, skelly and jelly armors.
We've got the "guardian" type of armor, which consists of underpowered bulky armor with terrible bonuses.
And finally, 'misc' category. These consist of things like virulisk and valkyrie.

So magic line fits into the defense vs elemental. So lets say that you're an all class type of person, and are planning your equipment- after successfully identifying the guardian armor as being awful, deciding that using specific armors for playing as a class won't help you to fully utilize all of your weapons and then going on to see the other armors as being situational, you may decide on something like this-

Armor:

Chaos cloak
Divine veil
Valkyrie armor
Mercurial helmet

Weapons:

Storm driver
Gran faust
Final flourish
Blitz needle

For loadouts:

VS beasts
Chaos+Mercurial
Final flourish+Storm driver

VS undead
Chaos+divine veil
Final flourish+Storm driver

VS Gremlins
Chaos cloak+divine veil
Gran faust+storm driver

VS Jellys
Chaos cloak+mercurial helmet
Gran faust+storm driver

VS fiends
Valkyrie mail+divine veil
Storm driver+final flourish

VS construct
Chaos cloak+divine veil
Storm driver+gran faust

This is just one way that you might choose to utilize the options presented to you- and is a good example of when using magic line items would be more effective than using a class armor...

So to answer your question- Hybrids would use magic line items effectively.

Wow,

You guys helped me out immensely!
I actually have an interest in hybrid, though currently I'm running the regular Spiral Demo suit and helm.
But I will highly consider going hybrid when I rank up a bit more.

Thanks for all the help! really opened my eyes to customizing load-outs to fit respective areas rather then just diving head first in Bomber gear to blow it all up (which I'm sure is viable as well.)
At this point i'm building up crowns to finish building my super blast bomb (need CE :/) , but kinda stuck in the middle now that you all mentioned these different hybrid combinations!
But again Thanks!
