Well, hoping around the forums in inspiration of having a little more fun with how I play this game, (Since I can't decide on what uhh "Class" to be?) I came across something involving players that build their gear around protection and health to support the team and be able to revive their allies with their large health pool.
This sparked my interest since I like the support role, So my question would be,
Does anyone have information, suggestions or the knowledge to point in the right direction?

(I am 2* Bomber but A bit bored of the way bombs work, even though I have the starter bombing gear still hoping for a bit more...Though bombs are cool so I'l keep the character:p)

The clsoer you can get to that is ancient set and penta hearth pendants, but you're far from reaching that.

I understand that

Right, but there is better stuff for lower tiers so if you get the defender, defensive type armor for your Tier couldn't you (in theory) have the same effect?

Spiral Knights doesn't really

Spiral Knights doesn't really support tanking very well because even with the best armor, in tier 3 (5*) taking damage will still deal A LOT. But for a support character, you can consider gunning and bombing, both which take much less damage than sworders (since they dodge more than jumping into the fray).

For large amounts, you can get health trinkets, but those require you to buy trinket slots to maintain, so as a new player, I don't recommend you getting them (yet).

So again, gunners and bombers get hurt the least since they mainly dodge/ kite monsters. If you aren't a big fan of bombs, I suggest you can either go pure gunner, or hybridize with both bombs and guns. Check out the gunner and bomber guides on the wiki for choices of weapons you want.
Gunner -> http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Gunslinger_Guide
Bomber -> http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Bombing_Guide

In terms of armor, I suggest getting one piece of bomber and one piece of gunslinger gear (which is self explanatory). (The boosts they provide are greater at 5*, so don't be too discouraged at first by the low boosts they provide at 2-4* XD)

Weapons wise, you would be going with the 1 gun, 1 bomb loadout, so i suggest getting a damaging gun and a status/ crowd control bomb.
My suggestion:
Gun: Alchemer/ Antigua lines
Bomb: Any haze or vortex bomb

Last note: Having 3 weapon slots will enable you to diversify your loadout much more, and will make things much more convenient.

You would have to make 3 sets for each type of damage.

Sad face

Hmm alright, sort of a let down, though I have heard about it elsewhere on the forums,
Heard something about a scarce amount of players the basically rotate their characters around having high defense type items and large health pools,
Seemed pretty viable too, but I suppose you do have alot more experience then me :/
Thanks! :)

Well... there are weapons

Well... there are weapons that you can use for more defensive play (such as 2-swing "heavy" swords which provide knockback, or guns like supernova/ valiance that provide knockback as well). You can health-orient you armor to maximize the amount you have (ancient plate helm and mail, penta heart pendants, and a scarlet shield, as Juances mentioned), but those won't reduce the amount of damage you intake (since there are specialized damage types: http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Damage), so taking hits won't guarantee you'll survive longer :P
I mean, technically it's viable if you are reallly good at avoiding getting hit, but in reality, it won't help you that much (in comparison to having damage-specific defenses)

Shields

At lower tiers you can tank hits if you focus on getting higher-star shields before other things. Shields, unlike your knight, will regenerate health, so if you have the correct shield for the situation you can stand in front of a teammate and take gun puppy hits while they charge up an attack. I recall there was a guy who got his fourth 5* shield before getting a single 5* weapon and I greatly admire that.
