"I spilled your coffee."
"Unthinkable!", his boss cried out. "You know what this means!"
He slapped his worker with his board.
"Now back to work with you!"

SPLORCH! Purple jelly flew everywhere as a crown clattered against the floor.
He stood up, dusted off, and collected his gems.

I didn't really expect to make it, what with all the great pieces that people were submitting. Not that I minded, it was really fun to read through the entries. I'm incredibly bitter, because the first place story was the one that used my original punchline. At the time, I was kind enough to go back and rewrite my story as to not conflict with theirs.

Even though I didn't win I still feel like I made a statement, and I'm very happy for Kalaina, I found that bit interesting. I suppose I shouldn't have expected to win with a detailed report of finding the flying wolvers bug from the perspective of a knight but well.... it was definitely worth it.

I wanted to give you all an update so you knew were judging was. Judging has taken a bit longer than I estimated previously and will likely be finished early next week. I'm sorry about that. Unfortunately there were some game related details that pulled us away for a bit. But never fear, we have a bunch of popcorn and surgery drinks in stock for the final push.
