I was having trouble running the game, it just wouldn't start at all so I decided to try changing my catalyst A.I settings. I switched it from advanced to standard and now the game runs perfectly on my computer :)

I decided to share it with you since I haven't found this information anywhere and I think this might help other people who are having trouble running this game too.

You should probably have a

You should probably have a look at your driver installation then. Having gone through Crossfire with 4800 series cards and a single 6900 series the Catalyst AI has always been enabled and set to Advanced/High Quality and there has never been this issue. This is through 5 or so Catalyst revisions.

This does sound like

This does sound like something in your drivers has conflicted with something else; have you updated your drivers recently, or rolled them back, without first uninstalling and cleaning the remnants of the old drivers?

Well I did mention it's just

Well I did mention it's just worth trying for the ones who can't login, I didn't say every ATI user should do what I've done.

My Catalyst version is 10.2 and the video card I used to have before this one was a Nvidia one so I just uninstalled Nvidia drivers and then installed Catalyst suite on this machine back at the time.

Did you use Driver Sweeper or

Did you use Driver Sweeper or another driver cleaner program before installing the ATI suite to make sure every remnant of NVIDIA stuff was gone? Always best to be sure!

Nope I didn't use Drive

Nope I didn't use Drive Sweeper because I've always updated my graphic cards drivers without using it before, and never had any problems in the past and I've also read it caused issues to some people.

I think it may be just a bug since my catalyst version and my graphic cards are both old so I can't update to the latest version to try it.

Anyway it isn't a big deal for me. I haven't noticed any difference by using Catalyst A.I set to standard instead of advanced on my games, if they run properly that's what matters.

Wait what graphics card do

Wait what graphics card do you have then? Cat 10.2 and Cat 11.2 (most reliable up to date driver for OpenGL use) have support down to the HD 2000 series. ATI has been improving OpenGL compatibility and reducing bugs for all supported cards over the last year of release, you just really have to go digging though the release notes to find it.

Wow...

Yeah Cat 10.2 has no official support for the Radeon X1000 series. The AI function isn't meant for them and is probably why you found that oddity. On the other hand, the official End-of-Life driver for that series seems to not function in OpenGL. Somehow you wound up ahead!

Now I know a way to get the game to work for people using these cards. Thanks.
