With only these stuff:

Shadowtech Alchemer MK II Level 8
Voltech Alchemer MK II Level 8
Gunslinger set(Both Hat and Sash) Level 8
Horned owlite Shield Level 8

Is it quite possible?
Other than Curse vials, what are the next most important status vial to bring?
Do you have an approximate health bar(in numbers) of the Jelly king in solo?

I was thinking since I have a SERIOUSLY bad loading time when I have other knights aboard(with the consolation of more frequent lag spikes).

Thank you in advance.

You may also post tips to defeat him
( other than I know which is:
2 shotting him with one bullet
use vials
)

well

Poison is also a good status condition since it prevents it from healing and does constant damage, so a poison vial is very good to have.

hmmm

Curse, fire, and poison vials are your best bet.

Now onto the weapons. Being a 3* solo gunner in the Royal Jelly fight is rather difficult for people who aren't as experienced, for a multitude of reasons. It definitely is possible, but I'll list the disadvantages you're going to face.

- 3* alchemers are terrible, even the gunners admit it.
- 3* Gunslinger armor only provides ASI med, which isn't very effective. For one, Alchemers are charge-oriented guns. Second, ASI med for any gun is nowhere near as useful as DMG high (full Dusker + Twisted Targe) for swords, or CTR very high for bombs (full Fused Demo + level 10 bombs).

Processing Thoughts of You Always

@Spiral-Viperr: Yeah, that's reeeaaally helpful advice. ¬.¬

@OP: As a gunner, I have to admit the alchemers aren't all that great in the beginning (although an Umbra Driver is god against clusters of jellies).
Unfortunately, when starting out they are your only options for elemental or shadow damage, gun-wise.

You're best off charging your Shadowtech for pure damage. For the Voltech, you may want to pull off single shot-shield cancel-single shot-shield cancel, in order to cut out the reload time and get more status infliction out there whilst staying safe.

Internal ricochets are the way to rack up high damage against enemies. It's quite difficult to do this, but if you switch off auto-aim and target the right-hand-side, you should be able to get some of your bullets to bounce inside the enemy.

If you can get a Swiftstrike Buckler, that will help you an awful lot since it provides ASI high for ALL weapons, despite what the description says. Horned Owlite is also good in a defensive regard.

Keep kiting, and remember the way the spikes come up or down. As a gunner, your prime defence is keeping your distance from your enemy. In addition, at some times, it may be better to run over the spikes and take piercing damage as opposed to a lumber's hammer-arm in your face.

Pay attention to your environment. t2 jellies are able to spike you from below whilst still a good distance away. Some of the jellies in RJP are t3, and will produce several spikes rather than just one. t2 and t3 Blast Cubes will also produce globs of explosive gel, which are roughly the same shape as a material. Some people in RJP will use Pulsar with wild abandon; stay well away from them if possible, since they may fling lumbers or jellies into your face.

Save up Curse, Poison, Fire and health pills. If you can't find Curse (usually there are only one or two drops in the entire run if you're lucky, and it's possible to not see them at all) go for Shock as well, to interrupt his tackles. Beyond that, Stun may be vaguely useful as a last resort. Don't even bother with Sleep.

I've been doing RJP runs on my alt with Magic Hood, Cobalt Armor, Plate Shield, Shadowtech Mk II and Firotech. Trust me, it is possible, just slow if you're on your own.

@OP
Why are you bringing an elemental-resistant shield in a place full of monsters that deal piercing damage?

Also here's how you should solo RJ:
Phase 1: Kill the polyps and go for the boss
Phase 2: Same as Phase 1
Phase 3: Bring your poison vials and pummel the boss to death, with guns.

@Metagenic You are seriously underestimating the ricochets of regular shots if you say Alchemers are charge-oriented guns. I've gotten many times 3 slag walkers getting instantly shocked with just regular shots of my Volt Driver. Plus charged shots aren't gonna do him any good against the boss since his shadowtech alchemer mkII is at lvl. 8. It's best he just shoots one shot and shields to defend against jellies and polyp thorns.

@Sgtbrown

There's a big difference between the effectiveness of the regular shots of a 4* Alchemer and a 3* Alchemer.

Your alchemer will deal

Your alchemer will deal bullets that deal about 52 ish or more damage, like my Shadowtech Mk II dealt when I did a JK run.

So keep in mind that the healing is about 58 per mini I thought?

medium damage bonus and not

medium damage bonus and not much defenses vs. a gunslinger hat with better defenses and a low asi

Ehhhh, new players tend to take damage and stuff it might be best to go the defensive route.

If you're only bringing two alchemers, you could always look into the tactic where you fire one shot, shield cancel, switch weapons, and fire again illustrated in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbC4QI81Kxo

DPS

Constant DPS that is about 2x higher then the heal of the him which is 59.... Should get you to kill him faster, try to calculate your DPS with your weapon, including reload times.. Whatever weapon works that shoots/slice faster and deals alot of damage you use to counter the healing.. Good luck :D

Of course, we are talking

Of course, we are talking about taking advantage of broken game mechanics here...

This is by no means intentional by the devs. However, it should be looked at like shield cancelling.

And no you don't have to have an inventory that is alchemer exclusive unless you are planning to take like 3 alchemers and do this.

All you need to do is make alchemers in your loadout near eachother. Mouse scroll up and down while doing this and you can go back and forth between them regardless of other weapons you have.

I remember how to manage to solo Jelly King / Royal Jelly as a complete newb before the giant nerf to his health / mechanics. In 3 star gear (personally for me, I was in boosted plate gear using tempered calibur charge attacks lol), it was pretty much find a curse vial or take the elevator up.

Curse vials make the fight really, really simple. You should also stack fire and poison vials to go with your pills. Then, keep the jello statused up when necessary (as in, don't throw a curse vial if he is already cursed).

Shouldn't be too difficult with a 3 star shadowtech.

Needs more catalyzer

Not to sound like a douche or anything but I think the best way a 3* gunner can solo JK is by taking the Biohazard catalyzer line (I forgot what the 3* one was called). From what I've experienced, the catalyzer charge is capable of exploding the crap out of the Royal Jelly, plus, poison is a very nice bonus to have as he tends to heal himself way too much.

But if you intend to stick with alchemers then I can't help you with that. The only time I touched an alchemer was when I was crafting prismatechs to sell on the AH.

Thanks!

I did some RJP runs with PUGs and Jellies seem to hate me(always have aggro), but I can dodge fairly well so I might take the Cyclops cap into consideration.
And,
Since my Shadowtech is already level 8 it does like 69 or something.

I might get the Swiftstrike buckler if it can help with one shot pause repeat attack (yes I do it already)

Good but must be skilled....

You can solo JK with this but it may take awhile and might not turn out pretty well i suggest getting a Pepperbox cause it actually deals heavy damage and deals fire status..... you just join a group and then when you finished Red Carpet Runaround go solo..... you should be able to kill JK with just a few charges and take less damage if you destroy most mini jellies.... using pepperbox charge is needed alot coz you will deal over 300-500 damage if can get enough hits on him

Pepperbox may not be such a good idea. While it is possible to rack up such high damage and you get the fire status, there's the drawback of being extremely vulnerable whilst firing. It's easy for a jelly to wobble in and bump you to death.

SUNSHAAAAAAAAARDS

I always liked the Toxic Catalyzer line. Pepperbox could certainly work, but it's risky; one normal six-shot and run would be my preferred tactic in that battle.

Hmm...

Looks like I have to heat up my stuff to achieve Med CTR.

I really don't care about the profit all I want is tokens(/wants 2 antiguas for replacement of alchemers heh, but if I find alchemers better, then I dunno...)

Since I will buy 4200 CE in the coming week, this might be easier.

Thanks guys!

RESULTS from your advice

Carried 3 guys (1 completely 2 star and 2 three star)

During the JK Fight, they did listen to only fight the jelly king but got attracted to polyps(and died, derp)(also asked them for poison vials, got 2, saved for rage parts)

Gunslinger set(Lvl 10)
Shadowtech Alchemer MK II (Lvl 10)
Swiftstrike bucklerr (Lvl 6)
Firotech Alchemer MK II (Lvl 6)

Killed him just getting hit once :D

If JK gets roughly doubled on health on 4 people, then I can take him easy

The video really helped great, faster DPS.
