A new weapon added could be a boomerang.
For example of multiple boomerangs that could cause normal damage or sometime effects such as fire or poison boomerangs or other status effects. And could be able to be transmuted from 1-5 STAR. I would love to see boomerangs in Spiral Knights.

Boomerangs can be crafted into special boomerangs of some sort and be thrown and will return to the user. Also i never said anything about a pepperbox you are just way off from what I'm saying.

The lack of any weapon mechanic is even more discouraging.
You're asking for a projectile weapon. Your projectile weapon has the ability to deal normal damage, potentially inflict status, and presumably bounce back to the user.
I'm saying we have projectile weapons: Handguns. Alchemers have the ability to potentially inflict status and bounce backwards. The Pepperbox line has the ability to deal normal damage and potentially inflict status.
What makes boomerangs unique enough to be considered something new?
Boomerangs can be a cool weapon i don't care what you think cause maybe the other players would like boomerangs into the game.

Your reasons are so flat just to get rid of one suggestion. You seem to not know what i mean by BOOMERANGS and pepperboxes since a pepperbox is a gun as you can see and a boomerang and a throwing object. and also I don't have to listen to you three or four lol my statement is fair enough for myself to enjoy and not let you kinds ruin it.
Mccblock, no point for Spiral Knight to make boomerang because it's attack is same as Alchemer that can be repel back.

On topic. What Manalicious was trying to do, was prod you for more ideas. Details, charge, mechanics. But hey, your idea is obviously so gewd, you don't need to give anymore ideas and the rest of the community should fill the holes for you. After all, we all want boomerangs, as shown by the 50 threads on the first suggestion page which all contains ideas for boomerangs.

God that was hard to type. Mccblock, this is how to get your weapon into Spiral Knights.
1- First think of a weapon mechanic. (how the normal and charge attack works)
2-create damage tables.
3- Divide the square root of the average damage number by pi and quadruple it before dividing that by zero to find a completely meaningless number.
4-Dance
5-Think of a reason why this would be a viable option to guns. Their bullets do not return, but they have infinite ammunition. They only have a limited clip size.
6- Convince the developers to introduce this to spiral knights
7- Dance
8-Dance
9-Dance
And THAT is how you get a weapon into spiral knights.
Boomerangs? Plz, God forbid.... Now, If you really want a boss weapon look into the bow and arrow. (Hint hint, quiver acessory, hint hint)

Mechanically, the boomerang would have at least two things distinguishing it from guns:
Firstly, it would be able to hit enemies both on its way outwards and back. Used smartly, one could attack a trojan while staying in front of it or take out something behind a wall.
Secondly, there would not be a reload animation forcing you to stay still but you will have to wait for the boomerang to return before using it again. If running speed is not decreased while waiting for the boomerang to return, this is an advantage. If your running speed is decreased while the boomerang is out, this is a disadvantage compared to guns.
This is all academic because Firestorm Citadel will freeze over before SK introduces a new weapon type.
i imagine boomerangs, calibur and blast bomb which would = Link, or is it just me?
The bounce on Alchemers' charge shots can do just that - hit things from behind or hit things behind a wall. I don't know about you, but I've used my Umbra Driver to take out shielded Mecha Knights by making sure I hit the shield of one that has another in front of it. I've also used the ricochet to hit ghost blocks and access things from behind (I think Perimeter Prominade II is a good example?).
As for the "reload" (I guess you could perhaps call it rearm) mechanic you proposed, it makes a boomerang seem very underpowered compared to what guns we have.
I suppose one way to begin balancing it could be to have it go through enemies in order to return, and perhaps to knock them down?

Yeah, and I've love to have a glowing lazor sword that could be transformed by my hand and swing in 270 degree arcs with explosions on every hit with a 20 square hitbox length that deals infinite damage to anything it hits so I can kill off the GMs too.

its a possible weapon, here is a take on it.
Weapon mechanic:
- the weapon is almost like a sword swing and it would not go through enemies.
- the weapon does not inflict status, instead its hits are pure elemental.
- when the weapon is thrown, it goes 3 squares away from the player. base on the location of the player and the monsters, it will hit the first monster in its path then bounce to the nearest monster. it will return to the player base on this same rule. hit the nearest monster that is 3 square feet or closer to the player.
* the crucial variable needed to perform this is a probability function: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Probability_theory
- the player moves at a very slow speed while the weapon is launched.
- if the player receives any-kind of damage, weapon instantaneously comes back/teleport to the player hand.
- the weapon cannot be unleashed if the player is receiving any-kind of damage. which means, if the player is on fire, shock, poison ( not damage, but is included) and curse. ( this factor can be removed if it is to restrictive)
- the weapon stays airborne from the time it is launched about 4 seconds given that the player wasn't not damaged from its its initial point. 2 seconds launched from the players hand, and 2 seconds to return. anymore then that will result in the weapon teleporting back to the players hand.
- the player can launch the weapon while he/she is frozen.
- if the weapon were to run into the player before the time for it to return, it would go back to the players hand.
- the weapons speed would decrease the farther away it got from the player and increase the closer it got to the player.
- the weapons line from 3 star to 5 star can be modified to have a wider boomerang or to have it have a shadow hit. the shadow hit would be a second weaker hit from the initial hit. it could be described as two boomerangs thrown, one at the top and another at the first shadow. the second would be disguised as the first shadow.
- the damage ratio could be weaker then a callibur star 3, but stronger then a cutter star 3.
- once the weapons returns to the players hand, it will take 1 - 2 second cool down time depending on the type of boomerang before it can be relaunched.
- the weapon act in the same nature with blocks or obstructions as it does with enemies. it will hit any blocks or obstruction 3 square or closer to the player.
- things like Trojan shield, robotic knight shield, Almirian Crusader's shield, Cursed Deadnaught/Slag Guard shield, and the new slag guard for the legions of almire update shield will block the boomerang.
- the weapon will not hit a monster twice unless it is an intending effect.
some reasons to create this weapon:
- while the weapon is launched, the player can use this chance to observe and preposition himself/herself during the live battle scenario.
- the player could hit multiple targets to draw their attention to himself/herself.
- the player could hit targets that are in a mid-range distance from himself/herself while dealing with up close targets.
- the weapon has the advantage from a gun because other targets other then the initial can be hit without having to aim at them.
- the weapon has an advantage from a sword because it can hit targets that are close range and mid-range.
- just because there is a similar weapon, does not mean other similar weapons cannot be created base on that weapons effects.
- it could have cosmetic value.
- it could be used as an item for funny jokes. ( just kidding)
some reasons it might not be worth creating:
- the alchemizer line has a very similar ricochet effect.
- the effort in creating the weapon might not have the intended result.
- some players might dislike this new line of weapon because it does not meet their expectations.
- it is not a weapon that is design for all situations.
in theory, this weapon is possible. the only question is, is it worth it?
Well, to be honest I think a boomerang idea can be worked into SK.
Sadly, the OP's skills at communication and accepting compromise is seemingly defunct.
My take on it would to make it a sword-like weapon: it's standard attacks would be club swings and such, but it could have a really short charge time, and the charge attack could be a ranged, sweeping arc that deals lots of little hits - and with higher tiers of the line, could have a chance of inflicting some sort of status, perhaps stun.
To balance the weapon, the club attacks would be paced like a brandish or caliber (With the three swing combo) but deal less damage than either of those existing lines. The real focus would be to use the weapon's charge attack (hence the short charge-up time) - to focus on it being used more like a boomerang and kiting enemies. the con of the charge attack could be that unlike the charge of a 5* brandish, nothing behind the boomerang's arc will be hit - so a mob of enemies already too close to the knight using it would be vulnerable until the weapon finishes it's arc (unlike the aforementioned brandishes that pretty much nuke everything in it's path).
I don't think it has a chance of being used, but I think such a thing could be made (just incredibly unlikely).
Boomerang can only be worked if it implement on enemy. :)
How are boomerangs different from Alchemers, besides the fact that they deal normal damage?
Alternatively, how are they different from a Pepperbox, which does normal damage and occasionally inflicts fire?
