Okay, so I've just decided to make a snarbolax set(yes I am a vanguard, no this isn't my first set) and I was reading through the wiki to see if I had the materials to make it (crowns and energy are not a problem) and it says I need two nightmare manes. What I want to know is how exactly do you obtain a nightmare mane? It says that they "can be obtained from the Sanctuary after completing the Shadow Lair Gloaming Wildwoods". However, I find confusing (English isn't my first language, sorry), would someone please clarify for me? Like, can you buy them from the sanctuary and for how much or do you just obtain one every time you finish the SL run? Thanks :)

After your SL run, you should encounter one Nightmare Mane, or another rare material depending on which run you are doing. You can buy one too to achieve the complete set in one run. Likewise, you can buy the other materials to craft their proper armors in one run altogether!

At the sanctuary, every member of the party gets 1 Nightmare Mane. If you buy 1 before going to the shadow lair, you will have 2 by the end of it. There are no vendor at the sanctuary.
There is an alchemy machine in the sanctuary, and you can craft your snarby set there. just make sure you have ashtail cap/coat heated to lvl 10, and CE and crowns to craft it.

When you do a Shadow Lair Snarbolax run, you'll end in the Unknown Passage, followed by the Sanctuary. The Sanctuary will have a Nightmare Mane on a little pedestal, that you can pick up. Also, there will be a special Sanctuary Alchemy Machine, that will let you craft certain armor sets without recipes. One of them is the Snarbolax set.

When they say "you can buy
When they say "you can buy one" they mean from other players. There may be players selling them in Haven. Also, if you went on a Shadow Lair run with multiple players, perhaps you could pay for one to come with you, and have them give you theirs at the end of the run.
There are videos of shadow lair runs on youtube. I saw one, at the very end it shows the sanctuary and where you get the material. Watch some runs, skip to the end, see if that helps clear things up.
You obtain a Nightmare Mane material at the end of a UGWW run (Shadow Lair: Rabid Snarbolax).
It's in the Sanctuary, which is the level after the Unknown Passage - it doesn't drop straight from the boss.
You get one every time you finish a Shadow Lair run, you don't buy them.
So you're going to need to do two runs - either that, or purchase one Nightmare Mane beforehand.
Apparently the material is a little out of the way and it's possible to miss it if you're not careful. :P
