Hey I was just wondering what's better and/or worse about running SK through steam.

-Steam

Cons:
-If Steam isn't working, you're in a bad predicament
-A little annoying to have to log onto Steam, then SK all the time

Log onto Spiral Knights
Log onto Spiral Knights website, go to support, click on purchase energy (or w/e its labeled) in billing support section. No longer need to use steam wallet to buy anything from SK.

If you are going to be playing on multiple computers, you should stick with the regular SK account. I have heard of a way to bypass having to have Steam installed on a computer to play on SK by choosing to log on with Facebook. Then supposedly you log onto the SK website with your Steam account, but as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't work anymore. All I get is "This account has been converted to Steam, please check "Use Steam account" to log on." In other words, you need the Steam client to log on no matter what.

There are no cons that I could think of except for steam being down.

I play on steam but I made this account for forum posting. Otherwise just the steam servers down, or logging into steam and then SK.

I play on Steam
If you play more than 1 video game, Steam is fantastic. If you only play Spiral Knights, it probably would not be worth the time to use it.
I play lots of games, and Steam is one of my favorite ways to acquire said games. I rarely buy games anywhere but Steam, it's just so handy.
And since when is having all of your games at your finger tips a con? I can go to ANY computer in the world and play my games (as long as the computer can handle it).
Last point: Steam Knight Mask (my avatar is the Steam Knight Mask) is free to Steam users. A free accessory for inviting other Steam friends? Fantastic! The mask is very cool, and it steams.

I use Steam on a mac and it's
I use Steam on a mac and it's a nightmare. App sometimes quits while you are playing so you lose connection to the game, it's very laggyand very slow, logging on to the game takes about 5 minutes each time :(
Pro:
-Steam Trade
-Voice chat
-Simpler and more secure log in
-Steam Overlay
Con:
-You have to rely on Steam servers being up to logon
-You are restricted to using the Steam Wallet for purchases
-You need to have Steam installed to play on other computers
Those are the ones off the top of my head...
