Ok, so we all know stun is broken. I am so tired of it getting my team killed. I have looked everywhere trying to find anything where OOO admits that stun is broken, and I can't find it. I find this rather annoying, because they have an ENTIRE STATUS THAT'S BROKEN. They don't have to tell us when to expect it to be fixed, I just need them to admit it's broken. And maybe they could explain why it's taking so dang long for them to fix it, when it's a very important part of the game.... IT'S AN ENTIRE STATUS. Something like this should not be kept in the dark. I want a Stagger Storm, but I need hope that it will be usable in the future. I get that fixing the status might be difficult, but...what if it's not fixable and they're not telling us anything? What if it's meant to let others double attack, because they think stun would be OP? I just need to know what it is, OOO.... is stun working the way it should, is it just a hard thing to fix, or is it not fixable? -_-

But... if anyone could give me a link where they acknowledge stuns brokenness, I would appreciate it :s
And if no one can show me where they say it's broken, I will turn this thread into a petition for OOO to tell us something about stun.

Noone working at OOO is a programmer.

That's why they don't know how to fix anything. That's why they don't know how to precache models so you don't get a giant lagspike when a spawn of a new enemy type appears. That's why the netcode is horrible. I'm sure the stats of weapons are hardcoded somewhere so none of the non-programmers in OOO know how to balance the equipment, either.

I really hate stun.

In LD, the "cloud" of status on the bomb may not even appear on your screen, or it will still affect you long after it actually disappears. This has nothing to do with lag either, its a really broken status. Then again OOO is so secret with what they're "working on" that chances are you may, or may not get a response from them here. I don't expect one, but who knows.

OOO's bugfix scheduling is

OOO's bugfix scheduling is not great. I don't know why that is, or what that would impact if it wasn't, but bugs just don't get fixed in any reasonable amount of time unless they're game breaking. Stun being broken isn't gamebreaking, just as flying wolvers and the "heat amps don't display the proper amount of heat in the UI" issue aren't. They've been around forever, they've been reported, OOO knows about them. They just won't schedule fixes. Maybe they're on waterfall or something, but if not a bugfix sprint really should not be that big of a deal. I really doubt that these are architectural issues that require redesign of the existing code.

Anyways, the glitch with the bomb is annoying, but I don't find the status itself very overpowered.
I'll list each status and what they do:
Freeze - Hold someone in place, possible damage if not unfrozen
Shock - Relatively hold someone in place, relative damage
Fire - DAMAGE TO THE EXTREME (get the reference? ;o)
Curse - You attack, you get damaged
Stun - You are held strong, but not in place like ice. No damage occurs.
You can argue that any status is overpowered. People yelled at me for using Glacius' charge and freezing them in LD. They said that Freeze is overpowered and they couldn't move, even as Skolver clones. I don't think that the status itself needs much fixing, but the invisible bombs can be quite annoying.

Stun works better on Knights

Stun works better on Knights than it does on mobs, Stunned while charging anything/charged up and you "freeze up" unable to move, but mobs will return to normal speed as soon as it wears off.

@ most people

For anyone not totally sure, Serell is referring to how stun is glitched at the moment an enemy or knight gets stunned, as well as the moment an enemy or knight is freed from stun. For enemies, if they were mid attack either at being stunned or at being free from stun, they will instantly finish their attack, then begin a new attack right then. I have to keep telling new people to not throw stun vials at vanaduke so he doesn't insta smash people...

This bug is true for knights as well. Most people in LD use their pokey sword tho, so there isn't much pre-attack delay noticeable to screw around with. Sometimes when I'm stunned, I'll try to line up a GF swing right as it wears off. If timed right, you can swing faster than max asi...

This is something that has been around for a very long time and OOO really needs to get around to fixing this. I can understand why they don't want to though... This probably requires being able to switch someones attack speed from stun/not stun mid attack, which I guess they didn't take into account in the early phases of the game. Poor planning :(

I understand this might be something hard to fix. Nonetheless, they should tell us about it. It ruins the game for me, for I like stun... it just fits me. When I pull out a Callahan against Vana and say, "Meet death, Vana >:D", my team mates shouldn't go running for their lives.

EDIT: @Zeddy, Poison may be underpowered, but at least it doesn't murder your team.
