One week progress
Well I started a week ago and after a week I managed to get...
Tier 2 set: Calibur, Cobalt Set, And a Defender all have leveled up to 10. Still using proto gun. Lol.
600 Crystal Energy bought with crowns. 200 Left.
6000-7000 Crowns
My question is what should I do now? I like to solo so thats all I've been doing.
I've tried soloing Tier 2 floors but they are a bit difficult by myself and I end up dying easily.
But I can see the crown gain is much better then Tier 1 floors.
My current plan is to work on getting the wolver set (Already have the wolver coat recipe, looking for the Cap) and upgrading my calibur to a tempered calibur. Also have the owlite shield recipe, should I get that shield or start a different one?
Is this a good choice? I'm a sword user so wolver set looks like the best choice for armor but what about the calibur?
I'd like to know your opinions on the swords and their sets. Also should I invest in a bomb or gun to compliment my sword?
Thanks.
Thanks alot. So I've decided to run with a sword/bomb combo seeing how bombs seem to be very useful in mob contro. Just wondering what bomb I should use, I saw someone using a fire type of bomb where they would drop a bomb and let the mobs burn as he drops more bombs around the area, seems like a good killing tactic without getting hurt/killed but it looks like it is very time consuming. Also, I plan on making all of my own stuff so should I focus on getting my gear first with the crowns I make from my remaining CE's or should I keep farming crowns. For every 100 CE's I can make around 6k crowns, maybe more. So pretty much asking what I should do exactly Crowns/CE wise.
If you're pulling in 6k crown for each 100 CE, I'd suggest throwing about 3900 crowns of each lot back onto the market. Instead of insta-buying, place bids for 3900 crowns to buy 100 CE, and over the normal night & day cycling, they'll get picked up. This isn't necessarily going to be fast, mind, depending on where the market is at when you put the bids, but it is cheap.
(Note: That's dependent on the market not going completely sideways. But, hey, worst case, your money sits unspent for a day.)
That leaves you a 2100 crown profit each go-around - which may not be enough to snap up your gear fast, but it's nothing to sneeze at either.
....
On bombs: You might want to read over the bomber threads in general discussion. For myself, I ended up picking poison over fire, for two reasons:
- I don't want a burning baddie hurting me with his flaming self if I switch to sword and get mobbed on (which is possible)
- Fire is both the most common status effect, and the most common resist, in a lot of levels I visit.
Now, those might not be real worries for your playstyle. But do read up.
Also, to confirm your pick, do a run without your gun, doing the whole "pick and toss pots to flip switches" thing, to make sure it doesn't annoy the crap out of you. If it bugs you a lot....
Hmmm. All I've been doing is soloing through different gates with 100 CE and I always end up at around 6k-8k crowns in the end, depending if I run into an arena. Is this what I should be doing to get the most out of my 100 CE? Is there a better way/consistent way of getting the most crowns I can get per 100 CE? I also read a bit on the slime boss? People make is sound like its the best way to make crowns but do you think the set I'm aiming at right now will do good at the slime boss? (Tempered/Ascended Calibur and the wolver set)
Royal Jelly is good source of crown/heat, but you need a group for that. There are plenty of pickup groups going for jelly run, depending your luck, you might be grouped with geared people that can carry you.
What I recommend doing is: 1) Join existing groups, the advantages are you skip pesky earlier levels that give almost no crown/heat, and also save a bit of energy. 2) Go at least to level 13 to Basil, re-selling popular recipes, such as "4* Wise Owlite Shield Recipe", is a good source of extra income. 3) After level 13, depending on the skills/gears of players in your group, you can decide to continue to Royal Jelly or leave
Thanks for the help and information Leviathan and Zerofriction. So I got my wolver set now to Level 10 and now working on getting my Tempered Caibur. Can I use my level 10 calibur to craft a tempered calibur myself? If I can't would it be better to just find someone who can make a tempered calibur for me for free if I provided mats and CE, I also need to make a calibur or buy it.

You can use a Calibur of any level to craft a Tempered Calibur, so yes, your level 10 Calibur will work just fine.
Thanks, now I need to find a tempered calibur recipe...
Bazaar, lower left area; right near the alchemy machine.
There's a vendor there named Kozma; she has it.
Owlite is an excellent pick for a shield.
The Calibur line, along the Leviathan path, is one of the viable sword runs all the way along, and works for everything (there are other swords that are better in many circumstances, worse in others; the Calibur line is just plain good).
If you love the sword, Wolver loves you; aim for Vog Cub at the end.
For the rest: Opinion, not certainty:
Bomb vs. Gun is a matter of taste; guns have high utility and ease of use. Bombs are crowd-control, and solid, but you need some practice, and a team that works *with* the bomber tactics is, I am told, a great aid. Solo with bomb and sword is something I've been playing with, and it's a lot of fun.
If you're going to carry calibur on up, you've got a normal-damage weapon as your core, which means you likely want an elemental, piercing, or shadow weapon on the side.
