Is there a general consensus as to which piercing sword is superior? Looks like the options are Rigadoon, Flamberge, Barbarous, or Flourish. I think the Barbarous looks good as it has a projectile attack, or the Flamberge might be good for the added fire damage. Anyone have any experience or advice?

The Rigadoon and Flamberge are often disregarded. They don't inflict their status often enough and do significantly less damage than their Swift Flourish counterpart.
The Final Flourish and Barbarous Thorn Blade are almost identical. The only difference is their charge, which is also just preference.
I would lean towards Final Flourish being better due to the price. You can easily get all the recipes you would want for your Final Flourish at the Hall of Heroes. However, the Snarble Barb recipes are amongst the most expensive on the Auction House. I can reliable sell a Twisted Snarble Barb recipe for about 12k. Dark Thorn Blade recipe is about 15k, and Barbarous Thorn Blade recipe is about 35k+.
Also, you can ragecraft Flourishes. Thus, it's easier to get UVs and/or make a profit off of getting good UVs.

Forget Rigadoon and Flamberge unless you're a hipstr or something. They suck, and I have them. It's mildly amusing to hear that 'donnng' and watch Strikers attempt to run, badly, or setting Recons on fire and watching them panic and break their own shield through the damage ticks. But really, don't get them unless you're a sadomasochist.
If you're looking for value, I would probably get a Final Flourish. The recipes are easier to find. The charge is also boss at mauling Trojans.
If you want good LD gear, go for the Snarble Barb. Its charge is good at finding Recons on a point. Plus with the 5* version you can pretend to be Harry Potter casting Stupefy or Lumos or whatever... okay, maybe that's just me.
