Flourish vs. Spur

Flourishes are incredibly mediocre. They're supposed to be fast and to let you run down quick enemies, but in reality they don't do either of those things as well as other weapons. The forward movement (not animation) of Flourishes should be swapped with Spurs. This would make both families less terrible.

Oh, and please replace the Spur charge attack with the one from any other weapon in the game, including the starter newbie weapon. I might use it then.

I like the Spur line

I like the spur line. I don't use the charge attack often, but it's an amusing novelty from time to time. There are enough other swords out there with "better" charge attacks that I think it's fun if the Spur line's charges are more for amusement than efficacy.

Also, the "quick" enemies in this game are essentially wolvers. Wolvers do two things that make the Flourish line better than the Spur line against them.

1) they dodge projectiles, like the one that spits from the end of the winmillion. They won't dodge or teleport when you swing and miss with a flourish.

2) They are beasts and are thus weak to piercing. Flourishes do piercing damage. Other swords do normal damage, which means other swords do less damage per hit than you get with the flourish.

Quick enemies that dash

Quick enemies that dash around. IE Wolvers, I have been using the flourish on them since I got it, and it works amazing IMO. The Wolver pops up or dashes around and I dash right after him bringing them down, not to mention beasts are weak to piercing. How is Flourish mediocre again? Working as intended is more like it.

HEY! I like the spur charge

HEY! I like the spur charge attack! I just think the animation time should be sped up a bit! That is all! Plus, I want a 5* Spur!

What I'm saying is that you'd

What I'm saying is that you'd run down enemies about as well with other fast weapons, and that there are weapons that swing more quickly while doing more damage. My suggestion is to make both the Flourish and Spur families better by swapping the forward movement ranges. I don't want anything to be nerfed.

terabomber: "Then why don't you use any other weapon in the game? This 'any other weapon' sword sounds like a doozy. Where can I buy one?"

It's called a Proto Sword. You should have one in your arsenal right now. It has a better charge attack than a Spur.

... No, he meant... Nevermind.

The spur's forward movement is fine the way it is, and the winmillion only makes wolvers and fiends outside of slashing range dodge. If you can hit them with the blade, the shot doesn't make them shift at all.

Spur line is awesome.

There is nothing wrong with the spur line (besides there not being a 5* lol), it is one of the most effective weapons in the game, with its knock back and the forward movement it’s great for separating the healers from the packs, getting them by themselves for a quick kill. I only have the Arc razor so far but it does way more damage than anything else i have used, and with its knock downs/backs it easily interrupts mobs attacks so you take less damage.

As for the Flourish, I cannot comment because I haven't used one yet, but the point of the Flourish is its piercing damage (pun intended lol) and not its speed, the cutter is the quick weapon line.
