I realized something with the enemies and bosses, and this was "Why don't the bosses and enemies have lifebars?" And I also found it quite frustrating that it will take just a million hits just to kill one enemy and for Vanaduke and Warmaster Seerus they are even worst to kill. I can't even tell how much I'm actually progressing with those two. But my main problem is with those Ghostman Stalkers from the Expansion, I fight them on Tier 1 and get some pretty decent hits on them with Faust, but they still dont die! Enemies having lifebars could also help telling how many hits you need to kill a Trojan or some other bothersome enemies. All I'm saying is that enemies having lifebars would be such a great help. So this lifebar might help with others and not just myself.
Lifebars for enemies
@ Dreathuxy,
I'm thinking that maybe there could be a way to disable health bars in the Options menu if you want (just like how we can choose to see damage numbers), or they could have some opacity to them so it doesn't obstruct your view as much.
But any style of health bar for enemies gets a +1 from me. I'd love to see something like that implemented, that way in shadow lairs parties can strategize more efficiently DURING a battle and target enemies with less health or ones that have low health already and need to be finished off.
With a bar too large, it will be blocking the view, and when enemies cluster together it will be useless. With a bar too small, it will be hard to see in the midst of all the actions.
What if we don't use a bar?
We can use an orb instead. A circle above each enemy, with a color filled portion to indicate the creature's remaining health. Think health/mana orb of Diablo 2, only reduced in size and floating about enemies' heads. Can be turned off in options.
Maybe the enemies can have lifebars, but only pop up when you highlight them.
@Evilnut: That could be a good idea, but think about bosses like Lord Vanaduke. He's pretty tall. People probably couldn't see his health orb most of the time while they're fighting him.
Another idea is to put health bar/orb only for enemies with significant amount of health, since most of them die with a combo or two when you have suitable gear.
There are indicators to tell you how much hp a boss has left. The search bar is your friend, Leo.
Maybe it can. Like show the health at the right top of screen. Whenever you hit an enemy, the bar at the right top of screen will show the health of the enemy that you hit just now.
i cant say i support adding life bars for all the graphical reasons mentioned previously plus it seems superfluous, with the exception of bosses, trojans and lumbers i can roughly guess how long it will take to kill an enemy with most of my current gear, there really is no 'need' for health indicators
personally i think its part of the challenge for bosses, not knowing how much health they have left, 'do i rush in and risk damage to finish it off quick or use energy to revive? how long left' if you can see health bars everyone knows, it takes some of the risk out of reviving / choosing dangerous assault plans
that all said if the devs can find the time between adding all this new content that will be coming our way *nudge nudge* to add toggle-able health indicators to bosses (and i guess other enemies) then fine, lets reduce the difficulty just a tad more, its not like it would detract from the game much if at all if its done in the right way
We don't need a health bar for bosses to know when we are hurting them because of their stages.
Oh, you say you revved the whole party when vana only had one more hit left in him? Too bad.
People wasting energy helps OOO make a profit. Cuz those energy wasters just buy more energy.
As Dreathuxy said, it would clog up the screen.
Bottom Line.
No Health Bars.
Oh, and OP, USE THE SEARCH BAR.
i would like to see the health bar only in bosses...The previous players suggest that the healthbar will be up of his head or up in the center..How about in the left with healthbars like the bars of the players???It would be like an extra person in the party...
Part of the skill curve in Spiral Knights is predicting how much health a given monster will have when you hack away at it.
Add life bars and you not only destroy that, but also create visual cutter.
Besides, most bosses already have visual indicators to their health.
Why not have a half-circle at their feet that can get covered by anything?
My opinion is that the lifebars for enemies like Vanaduke or Seerus or trojans will clog up the screen, making it hard to see those pesky mini-jellies that try to kill you every time you dont look. Also, if there are a lot of enemies, the lifebars will again clog up the screen, making it hard to see certain enemies.
