This project is to get more people to play Blast Network, opposed to Lockdown. I usually find 5 or less (give or take) people a day playing Blast Network. I look at Lockdown and see anywhere between 10-50 people. I'd like people to just play Blast Network once. Yes, I said only once. The reasoning is for people to try out Blast Network, and hopefully it sticks to some! Today it took 20 minutes to get into a match, let's give this PvP game a chance! In the last couple of days I came back to Blast Network after months (back when I was obsessed and in the top 20 usually). Who will join me?
Add a +1 if you'll give BN a try, even if it's just one round.
Add a +2 if you're already a BN regular.
Project: Revive Blast Network
I'll start to play more in Blast Network, and I agree with that. Well I mean about once or twice a day, and I do support this. I think people do lockdown because all you need is a toothpick , some piercing defense and to be guardian with basic skill to be good there. While Blast Network is the opposite , it may be identical to bomber man but it isn't bugged or have one weapon being over powered and another not being powerful enough. Also I think this from yesterday , or well seeing how you do Blast Network more than lockdown , just in genral.
Sorry Tohru, that thread was a little old, and this is a little different. Same goal though :D
I'm new and LD is popular, so I haven't played it. I'll try it out even though it is one hit kill :)
Lockdown both incorporates the element of player loadout and has a diversity of strategies (BN with all the walls cleared out is a pretty simple game). If LD weren't such drama and hyperbole, you'd find me there as well.
I think the bigger problem is that PvP is meant to be something to do outside of the core game while your energy reserves are low. Yet the only way to get interesting rewards is to throw energy into it. Once I get even one Bomber Head with which I'm satisfied (which could actually cost me quite a lot if I were proactive about it), there is about a 0% chance I will do it again. I might at least think about it if the things were not bind-on-acquire. Also, the only rewards are obtained with grinding and persistence--I don't get anything for, say, winning 5 games in a row or getting the most kills/damage of the day.
These serverside lags (some people call it teleportation) do now exist for 11 months in Blast Network. It is also possible that bombexplosions are able to hit you even if you are between two blocks, it doesn't happen often but sometimes. That gamemode will only get a revive if these bugs are finally killed, the people know why they avoid Blast Network. Blast Network can't be played as a serious game if these bugs still exist. And don't tell me I'm stupid, I have made painful experience!
I usually play about 1-3 matches a day ( depending on the amount of people playing) I'm not that good but it's pretty fun!
Fun, but boring? Kinda contradictory there... I guess it's "an acquired taste", but I personally love it. If only I could get on Steam and play SK >:l
The maps need to be more DYNAMIC.
Like new backgrounds and tilesets, some more better hazards.
Like where status only inflicting bombies are released via gate and switch, allowing you to stun enemies before catching them by suprise.
+1.5? I've already given BN a try, but I'm not a regular. I play it from time to time though :D
I dunno about rubberbanding, I play a bit late into the night (1AM EST here) sometimes so either I'm really tired and don't notice or there's just less players (thus more server space for meeee).
I agree that BN could use a little more improvement. Status effects like ice? I'd like that (though you have no chance of getting out of harm's way - once you're frozen, kiss yourself goodbye). Poison can halve the effects of your powerups (except for speed, stun reduces your running speed anyway). Shock periodically stops you in your place. As for fire... meh. Right now there's just rockets that can stun you and/or explode bombs already planted. Don't get me wrong, that's fun, but that's all there really is.
(And spikes that stun you, but I don't count that)
I don't do BN as much as before except on request but i do play at times.

No, click the lockdown button and scroll down. Click team BN or Free for all.
...what bugs? Rubber-banding is because it's a server-side hit detection. If you're connection's bad, you will seem to get caught farther. But this happens to everyone, so unless you're more than 150 ping from the server you're on, it shouldn't matter too much.
As always, people will not believe until they explore it by themselves. Have fun. Maybe we will see us in Blast Network if these bugs are fixed, but probably it will take another year. Small hint: These bugs have nothing to do with the latency... (latency = ping)
