I have a fellow guildmate who claims that he was banned for three days for posting a duplicate message twice within a short period of time in Haven, and he's on his last strike.

He's said that logs are kept of the chat, so if any of this is true, then it's not right that he should be punished.

I'm not here to contest this, but just to better educate myself on the matter. What constitutes spam?

When someone gets annoyed.

When someone gets annoyed. But gm's do make mistakes, so perhaps emailing support about it would make things clearer.

This should be an example of

This should be an example of "spam":
Knight 1: J
Knight 1: J
Knight 1: J
Knight 1: J
Knight 1: J
Knight 1: J
Knight 1: J
Knight 2: Stop that
Knight 1: J
Knight 1: J
Knight 1: J
Knight 1: J
Knight 1: J
Knight 1: J
Knight 3: Stop it
Knight 1: J
Knight 1: J
Knight 1: J
Knight 1: J
Knight 1: J
Knight 1 has been banned.

But what I view the definition is the process of repeated and normally meaningless text. An alternate definition that fall under the condition that it is meaningful would be the unnecessary process of extending your message in multiple messages. For example:
Knight 1: Help
Knight 1: me
Knight 1: please
Knight 1: I
Knight 1: will
Knight 1: give
Knight 1: you
Knight 2: Stop expanding that sentence.
Knight 1: crowns
Knight 1 has been banned.

But if they are asking multiple questions, then it would not count as spam. If a random stranger pesters you and you tell them to stop it, but they continue, it shall be counted as harassment.

So just as I suspected.
It's not like this might change anything though. It's entirely up to said victim to take this into his hands.
