What family is the almirian crusader?

So wearing a deadshot set, my AP does the same damage to the almirian crusader as it does to a lumber. (Which is less against slags and kats, obviously.)

This leads me to believe that the almirian crusader is NOT undead, even though it takes extra damage from elemental weapons like undeads and constructs.

Do you think this is intended? A bug?

Moo~~

Iv noticed that too. My AP DOES show orange numbers, so Im guessing I am dealing effective dmg against them, but the number themselves dont seem to have gone any higher.

Constructs? :P

Well...

From what I've seen they deal Shadow Damage and they take extra damage from my Glacius so I assume they are Undead. Also it just makes sense considering they are fallen soldiers of Almire. Any damage differences that show otherwise is most likely a glitch.

EDIT: Almirian Crusader - A powerful undead knight from the cursed kingdom of Almire. They lie encased in ash until intruders get too close...

This is a quote from Nick talking about the new enemies.

but they don't take undead

But they don't take undead bonus damage. Went in with deadshot and did way less with my blitz compaired to other undead, untill i equiped some gun damage trinkets.

Its probably a bug then... they are quite clearly undead. But then... so is vanaduke, and he isn't?

mmmmm

about vana, he is weak to pierce so i think he might be a fiend, since he is a cursed monster who turns his loyalists into undead

@Tarkune

I'm not sure what wiki you're reading...

But, SK wiki shows the Almirian Crusader is in the undead family.

(Ignore missing pictures, that's an issue OOO is aware of and is working on, if you went to the wiki thread.)

Also, in the Undead Family page you can clearly see the crusader listed.

If you look down at "No Types" you can see Vanaduke is listed there.

So again, this begs the question: Why doesn't it get a boost from undead damage UV's? But then it appears that the consensus is that it should and it's a bug.

maybe...

It is possible that their armor causes them to take less damage than other units from all types of weapons? I haven't really looked into it, but that seems possible, otherwise I'd say they just forgot to add the inc damage to undead to their resistance tables.

Someone do me a favor and try construct bonus on the Almirian crusader.

The reasoning being that the Almirian crusaders bear a strong resemblance to mecha knights on steroids, and some of the code could easily have not been changed. If it works, it would prove that it is a bug. That or the Almirian crusaders are robots disguised as undead, like the terminator, but goofier.

Kat - 151
Zombie - 151
Lumber - 151
Crusader - 151
No Fiend Bonus, Same defense on all four.

Hail Driver(Undead Med)
Kat - 184
Zombie - 184
Lumber - 166
Crusader- 166
No Undead bonus

Hevy Deconstructor(Construct High)
Kat - 189
Zombie - 189
Lumber - 228
Crusader - 189
No Construct bonus

Barbarous Thorn Blade( Beast High)
Kat - 245
Zombie - 245
Crusader - 245
No Beast Bonus

Furious Flamberg (Gremlin High)

Crusader - 195
No Gremlin Bonus

Big Beast Basher/Super Slime Slasher(Slime High, all I had)

Awesome test, very thorough.

Thanks a bunch! =)

I'm amazed you had a weapon that had a bonus for each family, because I know I don't.

wow I agree with this. You

wow I agree with this. You must have done this danger mission ALOT. Im not even gonna ask you how you beat the mission wth
Big Beast Basher and Super Slime Slasher.
So I guess the conclusion is none of the bonuses works on the crusaders. Maybe armor like mentioned above...

Argent Peacemaker, solo:

Kats and Zombies - 126 per shot

Crusaders, Howlitzers, and Deadnaughts - 116 per shot

Lumbers - 93 per shot

They are undead, their defense is just higher.

If it isn't a bug, it should be changed. Bonuses per monster type are extremely weak compared to bonuses per weapon type. And if its supposed to be the same as vanaduke... shouldn't they be weak to piercing? And why is vanaduke weak to piercing anyway? Shouldn't he be changed to undead? The Jelly King was changed to be a slime... and they aren't trying to pass the Roarmulus Twins or Snarbolax off as something they're not.

Lostillusion: Try it on D24 with only a peacemaker and no extra damage bonuses, undead or otherwise. You should get the same result as I did.

It's possible they are buggy against stacked damage bonuses or something, but they definitely take Undead bonus damage.

Could just equip damage

Could just equip damage trinkets or gear that gives a general attack boost if you want to do bonus damage to them. Can tell you my brandish/hammer/whatever I bring does the same damage to undead as it does to the Almire knights because I use the general attack bonuses and don't waste time trying to use family specific bonuses.

Or to make it more simple. Wolver armor, Shadowsun, Merc Demo/Mad Bomber/ Bomblolastic?, damage trinkets, bts.. think I've given enough examples.
