My suggestion is for the developers to please create (technically it would be the opposite of create, more like strip off) the graphics settings so its extremely low. Sadly i had to switch Spiral Knights from playing on a desktop to a laptop. ...lag sucks!... i totally get what players rant about now.
Right now i have the lowest setting off, including compatibility mode, culls and Antialiasing Level all low yet im still laggy!!!! oh what cruel fate is this?!
yet i noticed something O.o even with the lowest of settings, it still looks pretty darn good! i think that might be a problem.
i really dont need bells and whistles. my avatar doesnt have to glow. I dont care if my vog no longer leaves a trial of ash. i have no need for the wind to move stuff around. my Voltedge charge attack wont look as epic as it was. but the thing is I Really Dont Care. i would rather play looking like a stickman than having all these cool graphics and frameworks be super late D: (i mean i teleport from here to there)

please consider this guys. just add one more graphic setting D:

urs truly (a P2P t3 noob),
Vlad

p.s. i think you got bamboozled by SEGA with so-called blast processing.... o.O

If you meet minimum requirements it shouldnt lag that much.

I noticed the Blast Processing patch actually. There was a slight increase in random half-tile teleporting that always seems to happen when next to Shadow Fire, but in exchange I could run graphics on High and render effects with far better performance than my previous personal best of 1.5 minutes per frame.

But I wouldn't mind some lower levels of graphics. Actually... I would prefer some levels of graphics between low and medium (and by extension, between medium and high). For example, the main reason I suffer through a bit more lag than usual is because I like the lighting effects from (destroyable) torches and to make my Quicksilver Mail shiny. However in FSC, any graphics higher than low causes Shadow Fire to go CRAZY and lag me so much.

I would also like a very low graphics setting.
This game looks incredibly awsome even on the lowest settings, but it ALWAYS lags whenever new enemies appear.

And as anyone knows, lag is much more annoying annoying than low graphics.

I do find a lower graphic setting necessary

You have an awesome laptop...i don't D:
I'm not the only one who suffers from Chronic Lag Syndrome (CLS)
There is a HUGE player base who lags. Everybody has had at least one bad lag day in Cradle.
I really find this extremely necessary. thanks for the +0 and not a -1 :)

Blast Processing does work but i really don't feel it does a BIG difference.
Super tall Shadow Fire is annoying and until now i didn't know Blast Process. helped out with the lag.

Also i do meet the Min Requirements except for the Display. could this be the root of my problem???

Remove shading? Color? Extra particles from ice, fire, shock, poison, etc? Where do we make cuts to make this happen?

If you have a low framerate,

If you have a low framerate, try turning off VSync. It may cause some graphic tearing (doesn't hurt your computer, just makes the image look funny) now and then, but in your case, it probably wont. Try it and see.

Plus, a little graphic tearing isn't as bad as lag, in my opinion.

So you did everything here?

Vsync has one of the smallest impacts on lag out of all the options.

I have 4 star gear, cobalt and wolver ones, specilazed swords for all tipes of dmg and big amout of ce. And guess what? I cant run even though depth 1 Jelly palace. I'm dead before I see enemies. This is laggs.
I have all graphics on low, turned on capability mode in advanced settings(without it game lagging even harder and there is no textures for mobs) and I still lagging like idk what when mobs spawning/bombs exploding/some players in party.

Come on!

Move closer to the USA; this heat wave affecting the servers causing you lag SHOULD be the last thing you should be worrying about.

also...
i have turn Vsync off (such a hassle) but my frame-rate has not improved drastically or even seen a minor improvement. >.<
I switched from 32bit to 16bit color.
Changed SpiralKnights Window to lowest resolution possible.
And im from Jersey, USA. So there's possibly no way my location is the problem (imagine living out in the Mid-West...yeesh! or Africa....)

VSynch can cut your framerate

VSynch can cut your framerate notably. Keyword can. The odds of it doing that are about as low as the odds of getting image tearing from not having it turned on.

If you live in jersy and have a tiny 16 bit window, your computer just needs some new stuff. Best way to easialy see if it's your grapgics or your CPU is to just play some minecraft and see if it lags. If it dosen't lag hevialy on normal render distance, you have enough memory and probably need graphics, but if it does lag you need more memory and possibly also graphics.

Also, I thought toshibas weren't considered great computers. Get a Vaio, my laptop works well if you can keep it cool. DO NOT GET A GATEWAY. ESPECIALY A GATEWAY NETBOOK.

I notice you said you are teleporting. That is caused by bad internet connect, not bad framerate, which this would help with.

You're computer is better than mine and I dont lag that much.
You either have your computer clogged up with a ton of files or your internet is bad.

To check if it's your internet go to www.pingtest.net and www.speedtest.net and ping the Virginia server.

Post what you get.

Ping 45ms
Download Speed 1.27 Mbps
Upload Speed .97 Mbps

I used pingtest.net to Ashburn Virginia with home WiFi
Line Quality B*
Ping 44 ms
Jitter 10 ms
*Packet Loss Test Failed!*

"so Doc...am i gonna live?" but yea Thank You for helping me bro.
p.s. this is a fairly new computer. i should not have a butt load of junk in it.

There wouldn't be any harm in this. My computer can handle the game well even I were to blast every setting to maximum so I forgot if I was playing a game or real life. But every now and a then computers break and so one must pull out a computer from the stone age, or switch to laptop. These can barely get me past the loading screen so I can see my characters. If I can make it that far, switching to ultra-low graphics sure would be nice.

Somehow I can play the game on high graphics with very minor framerate degradation... on a laptop! Bam!
You say it's a newer laptop, but what are its specs? Does it meet the minimal requirements to run SK?

Rather than lowering the game settings, have you tried accelerating your hardware or reduce your gpu and cpu?

You are experiencing a PICNIC ERROR!

Why not add wireframe mode? That's supposed to be faster than the Blue Blur!

@Kamigod

Spiral Knights requires 32bit colors. Running it in any other color depth should make it crash. I don't know why you'd want to do this, but...

Anyway, in Windows 8 and maybe 7, to get to 16bit colors, you need to right click on a shortcut for an application, and do Properties > Compatibility > Set Color Depth to 8bit/16bit and then select 16bit. This will only switch to 16bit colors when you run the program which you right-clicked, and then revert to your previous color setting. I don't know if it works like this in Windows 7.
