How do you drop pills and vials, I have looked over the keyboard commands in settings and can't find it.

It's drag and drop.
Make sure that your HUD is not locked first, though.
There should be a little button to indicate whether this is the case; if so, you can unlock it again by pressing Q.

Click and drag them outside of their circle at the top. Then let go.
