I tried doing the Jelly Palace with a tier 3 jelly armor and helmet, nightblade, a horned owlite shield and a fiery vaporize mk 2 but i cant defeat the Royal Jelly.
What equipment should I take for Jelly Palace?
AS Traevelliath said, bring teammates. Its better to do it with people than alone! Nightblade should be enough for jellies so you and your teammates hould be good unless u have a party inwhich they bring piercing gear which is stupid...
As the others have said, your equipment is plenty good. You mainly need to practice. Believe it or not, the Royal Jelly used to be much, much harder than he is now.
Vials can help a lot. Your goal is to enter the Royal Jelly fight with 3 pills and 9 offensive vials (particularly poison and curse, but fire, shock, and stun are also great). Use these to keep the Royal Jelly from healing, and to keep him incurring damage. If there is more than one person in the party, then this goes really well.
not sure if you mean tier 3 or 3 star. but if your looking for equip advice for royal jelly palace, I would say swap the owlite shield with a piercing shield. I use a royal jelly shield. but the others should work just fine and won't break as fast to the piercing jelly attacks. and i would say change the fiery vaporizer to a toxic vaporizer. its great because poison status reduces damage output, increases damage taken and turns all healing into damage received, essentially you can get the jelly king to kill himself when poisoned if you wait out long enough. I prefer the poison gun when soloing however. the Toxic Catalyzer line is great. basically keep shooting and dodging attack the bullets poison often enough..itll at least nullify enough healing for you to get a couple hits in with your nightblade. Of course if you haven't run Ironclaw Munitions Factory all that much for the catalyzer which is received from tokens, then look towards a Shadowtech alchemer line, or even better, a Firotech Alchemer. Firotech line can cause the fire status quite often and is great as well for countering some of that healing as you blast away at him. As a bonus there you can take this to take care of those Lumbers and Gunpuppies that pop up quicker than a shadowtech or toxic catalyzer. I'd suggest a gun more than a bomb since you don't have any charge time reduction other than the bomb itself from being leveled to 5 and 10. which is very important when laying these down.
the Virulisk line (branch of of the Chroma Set) goes great with this setup because the set bonus offers Piercing defense as well as very high slime bonus damage with all weapons. In other words, My swords, guns, and bombs all benefit from the armor when battling against the slime family here. something you might want to take a look at. not sure what your funds are. others might tell you go work on the Wolver line because sword damage is the end all be all of the game.
speaking from my personal setup. I run the palace a whole lot more than firestorm citadel for heating runs. my setup when not trying to heat anything looks like this.
Deadly Virulisk Helm
Deadly Virulisk Armor
Royal Jelly Shield (Barbarous Thorn Shield is for chumps :V)
Combuster
Gran Faust
Umbra Driver/Sentenza
Venom Veiler
Elite Sword Focus Module
Elite Bomb Focus Module
Its my typical royal stomping gear. I have a few other loadouts for the palace because I have different peircing armors and weapons to take down the king with.
I'd suggest your set up look like this. (assuming you are in 3 star gear)
Brute Jelly Helm
Brute Jelly Armor
Brute Jelly shield/Twisted Targe/Great Defender
Nightblade
Toxic Catalyzer/Shadowtech Alchemer MK II/Firotech Alchemer MK II
this would be optimal for where your at now I think
Chroma Mask
Chroma Armor
Brute Jelly shield
Nightblade
Firotech Alchemer MK II
not gonna pretend like I know absolutely everything about everything, but I have run Royal Jelly Palace more than anything else. so just sharing what I do from my experiences. and of course practice does go a long way. can always add me in game if you want to take a look at my gear. I have more than one Royal Jelly Palace setup. and I can help get you some of that gear I was talking about like those alchemers.
I personally have been running royal jelly with:
Fireburst brandish
Blaster
Cyclops cap
Fencing jacket
Defender
Of course, not everyone else is insane enough to not wear "real" armor. If your problem is the jelly itself, here's some tips:
-Bring a gun to break the blocks, keep the outer ring broken so you can move around
-Use charge attacks to kill the royal jelly, run in circles around it while charging
-Attack the jelly from below, it seems to bounce me back more when I'm above it
-Shield cancel all your attacks
-If your shield is broken, run in circles around the entire arena, and take some stabs at the polyps
-Bring curse vials! After the jelly starts having seizures, throw a vial at it, and it pretty much kills itself from there
POISON - stops healing & you do more damage/they do less damage
If you can afford another weapon slot, craft a toxic vaporizer, mk2 if you can afford it, and take it along as well. The fire rips the mini's to shreds, and the toxic vaporizer makes the silk wings much easier, and stops the Royal from healing. Using both bombs works wonders, and makes certain parts of the levels MUCH easier.
TIP: Mini jellies are very easy to kill if you catch them on fire first.
TIP: Mr. Royal is easier to kill if you catch him on fire, and poison him
TIP: If you can unlock all 4 weapon slots, bring along a good shadow gun, and combined with the two mist bombs mentioned and a nightblade, Mr. Royal becomes extremely easy. It's possible to beat him while taking very little damage, most of the time I don't even use health vials. (to be honest, I have not beat him since collecting 103 jelly gems...). The level just before the final battle is normally much harder than the final anyway, so if you can beat that one, you can beat the final. Don't tell yourself that it's too hard, it's not too hard, you can do it!
That's more than enough. Just keep practicing.
