Hello, I am aware that there is other threads on these items, but I am after an answer that suits my play style and current arsenal.

Current Loadout:
---Armour---
- Dusker Cap
- Dusker Coat (Piercing: Low)
- Elemental Hood

---Shield---
- Brute Jelly Shield + Bristling Buckler (yes the 2*)

---Swords---
- Voltedge
- Grand Flourish (Undead: Medium)
- Sealed Sword
- Nightblade

---Guns---
- Blaster
- Pulsar

Places I run for crowns:
I mainly do JK runs as they are easy for me and have a decent payout for tier 2. I am planning on doing FSC a lot, I have done 2 full FSC runs, as I can only do them when a certain friend is on.

=====Snarbolax Coat VS Dread Skelly Suit=====
Yes, my armour is only 3* but I am currently progressing towards 4*, then 5*. I am a person that likes to plan things, this is why I am discussing 5* armour. So basically, which is better for me? I have been told by a friend to go for snarby, but to go through a shadow lair, that will take a long time to prepare myself for.

=====Gun Sidearm=====
As you can tell from my equipment, I am a swordsman; although I would like to have a sidearm as I do like keeping my range in some circumstances, or so I can just get a few more hits in while I am at a distance.
Current Suggestions: AP, Polaris, Valiance, Super Nova

Thanks,
Magmabubble.

Processing Thoughts of You Always

Get Vog to start with if you're planning on doing a lot of FSC in the future.
Upgrade that Grand Flourish of yours when you have the chance. The Nightblade is a second priority; whilst it would also be nice for you to have a DA, too, you already have one perfectly good elemental sword which will do just fine at the moment.
AP is a good damage-dealing sidearm for a gunslinger. Polaris and Supernova are utility guns and for the love of everything that is holy do not spam them on everything that moves or I will hunt you down and shoot you. (Yes, really.) They are for suppressing turrets or herding monsters, not dealing damage. Valiance has decent damage, as well as quite a bit of pushback, but I don't think it has the same effect on turrets.

Also, get your Bristling up to 5*. Jelly doesn't really have very good resistances; sleep got taken out completely, and stun isn't exactly the most dangerous status in the world.

Your sword selection is wonderful. You still might want to read the end my sword guide for the parts about sidearms and armor. There is no question that BTS is preferable to Royal Jelly Shield for a sworder.

Yes, Snarbolax is preferable to Dread Skelly for a sworder. It will be hard to make it through the Shadow Gloaming Wildwoods in Vog Cub. I recommend that you get one piece of Vog Cub and one piece of Skolver. This is enough for FSC. Then get Crest of Almire. Then, that armor setup could get you through SGWW, if you have a good team. But it might be pretty tough. One piece of Dread Skelly or Valkyrie or Fallen would help a lot. (It's a devious feature of this game, that boss reward items tend to help you with their own bosses --- but you have to beat the bosses without the reward items, to get the reward items.)

For a sidearm gun, really any elemental gun will work. I vote for Nova Driver or Storm Driver, because (A) they will serve you well if you ever switch to gunning, and (B) they are less popular with sworders. Argent Peacemaker is easy to use. Polaris is very effective only in certain situations.

For your choice in Sidearm, I'd say Argent Peacemaker, especially based on what you want your gun to do.

Supernova/Polaris just pushes enemies away. Valiance is for knockback, not damage (IMO).

Alchemers are better suited for if you want to eventually start gunning or go hybrid Gunner/Swordsman. If you plan to stick with swords, then the Antigua lines are better.

Thankyou for the

Thankyou for the responses,
Just a bit more information that I wasn't clear on:
I want to have a Grand Faust for shadow, I plan to get BTS but first I want blackend crest for CoA. I only got Jelly because it was easy to get (tokens).
Also I plan on getting DV to replace Vog Cap and Snarby Cap/Skelly Cap. And I do want a DA, but that is after I have all my armour, sheilds and weapons to 5*. And Bopp, I do hope that I can get snarby eventually, but should I get it straight away? Or become 5*, get a good income from FSC, then get snarby?

Other Polaris uses

Polaris is not just for turrets and keeping crowds at bay, they can help a lot at the puppy room in FSC plus they also shock and hold Trojans back while your teammate is dealing with something else.So it makes a lot of stuff easyer.

Divine Veil, FSC before SGWW

I plan on getting DV to replace Vog Cap and Snarby Cap/Skelly Cap.

Divine Veil offers really good miscellaneous defense. It's for people who want one armor suit+helmet for all occasions. I use it on my secondary character, who has only one loadout. But if you're going to get multiple specialized armor sets, then I don't really recommend Divine Veil. My main character rarely, rarely wears his.

And Bopp, I do hope that I can get snarby eventually, but should I get it straight away? Or become 5*, get a good income from FSC, then get snarby?

Well, Shadow Gloaming Wildwoods is harder than FSC, so you should probably master FSC first. And SGWW really benefits from a shadow shield, which you can get very well from FSC. And even with five-star armor SGWW is pretty hard, so I don't recommend that you try it until you have full 5-star equipment. (Yes, people do Shadow Lairs with suboptimal equipment. They have fast computers, low network latency, and lots of skill and experience. Maybe this describes you; I don't know you.) So I definitely recommend doing a bunch of FSC before trying SGWW. Really, only do Shadow Lairs when you're finally bored with the rest of the game.

In case you're asking about buying Snarbolax from the Auction House: Don't. It's expensive, and it robs you of your feeling of accomplishment.

I was aiming for DV because I

I was aiming for DV because I can use it with Vog, Dread/Snarby coat, or skolver so I defend everything, but if you suggest that I don't go for it, well then that's lots more work :P.

So so far you are telling me: Get Vog, then Skolver, then dread, then snarby?

might be able to skip Dread

I was aiming for DV because I can use it with Vog, Dread/Snarby coat, or skolver

Oh, I didn't understand that you were trying to use a single helmet with various suits. The problem here is that DV doesn't have any normal protection. So it's (almost) impossible to work into a perfect loadout.

So so far you are telling me: Get Vog, then Skolver, then dread, then snarby?

You might be able to skip the Dread Skelly step; it depends on how good you and your team are.

Here is the cheap way to do things: Divine Veil, Skolver Coat, and Grey Owlite Shield or Barbarous Thorn Shield. This is all you need to do the entire game except for Shadow Lairs. Then farm FSC to increase your skill and money. Maybe get Crest of Almire. Then wear Divine Veil, Skolver Coat, and Crest of Almire or Barbarous Thorn Shield into SGWW, and get Snarbolax. Depending on how good you and your friends are, this is either "no problem!" or "wow, we had to spend a lot of CE reviving".

Eventually, as you play the game more and more (with swords), you will form entire outfits out of Skolver, Vog Cub, and Snarbolax. You'll have nearly perfect loadouts, and Divine will rarely be part of them. But that day is a long way off.

Ok, thanks. Yeah I want DV to

Ok, thanks. Yeah I want DV to replace Vog and Snarby Cap (probably get them later on though). And I was planning on getting blackened crest for my 4* shield, to then have CoA GOS and BTS. Okay, thanks.

Now to the sidearm problem. I would prefer not any alchemers as I don't like how you shoot twice then reload (so I have to shoot once, stop, shoot once, stop etc). I do like high attack speed for guns (but can survive with polaris if thats what is best), and I would prefer a large clip (aka shots before reload), so that I don't have to worry about reloading as I don't normally click a tonne while shooting.

argent peacemaker

Based on what you just said, Argent Peacemaker is certainly the (elemental) gun for you.

I still think he should get

I still think he should get polaris because you can keep enemies at bay and not get hurt at all(unless it's on turrets or grevers) plus theres a trick at the puppy room in FSC that you can do without waking up the turret(and yes I'm a polaris and have one).

Storm, you have no respect

Storm, you have no respect from the members of arsenal community right now due to your "elite gun guide."

And there's another way of doing puppy room in fsc, no gun required.

Conclusion

So in conclusion I should get DV and Vog coat, then Skolver coat, then Snarby? And to go with AP?

sounds good

It sounds like a good plan. I'm still a little nervous about how little normal and poison protection you'll have in SGWW, but probably you'll be fine there. When you proceed into the Unknown Passage, you'll want to switch your armor to something with more normal.

Ultimately, you can plan only so far ahead. I mean, you could find that you don't like playing with Argent, or Three Rings could release new items that fit your plans better, or you could find a 4-star Skelly piece in the Clockworks and decide to upgrade it. So go ahead with this plan, but don't be inflexible about it. Cheers.
