I play t3 LD with snarby armor and 1 penta heart trinket, and I'm still getting killed in a single GF combo when I play striker. I'm curious if anyone knows how much of a shadow UV I'd need to survive it. I use my other trinket slot for sword ASI.

EDIT: oh, I mean just snarby bottoms. I use a skolver helm.

Unfortunately, armor has

Not sure what UVs it takes to survive a GF combo, but dodging or an additional Heart Trinket seem like a better option.
Unfortunately, armor has little to no effect in LD. Even the best shadow UVs will make you survive maybe one more hit, that's all.

I did some tests, but a while back.

A max damage gran faust is too strong for a shadow defense to make a difference.

Case in point: 2x shadow high snarbolax set dies in the same # of hits as my skolver (of course with 2x pentas)
Even if i were to be left alive in both cases (let's say, a full combo), i'll have saved maybe 4 pips of hp. A single swing from the gf would kill me in either case.

if I had no uv's on the snarb set, the difference would be even less.
I suspect if I had max shadow + max normal on both pieces, it could block a reasonable amount of damage, but I doubt it'd be game changing.

In other words, don't waste your time. It'll only help against sentenza and umbra shots, I think. (I have never tested against them.)

"only help against sentenza

"only help against sentenza and umbra"

Assuming defence works in percentages, there would be even less of an effect on sent and umbra, because the do less damage. Percentage-wise, shadow defence would block less damage from those sources. If defence were to work in flat amounts, then it would indeed be helpful.

In full shadowsun, Sentenza

In full shadowsun, Sentenza hits for ~1/2 pips per hit while AP does ~1 full pip per hit. I'm fairly certain it's a flat rate.

I don't even care if i'm only

I don't even care if i'm only left with half a pip of health, being able to do something after being hit from a GF combo from full health seems pretty useful to me. And i really value my asi max, so I'd really rather not trade in my asi trinket for more hearts.

@ Sypsy
I guess you don't know exactly what the difference is in health remaining when you're in snarby vs skolver huh? ah well. Bah, now I wanna be that dumb person who asks people in random LD matches to stop fighting so i can test things out hehe.

You'd survive a single max

You'd survive a single max damage gf combo if you had 2x penta, vog + skolver (or in your case, snarby).

This means you'd take a hit to max damage, but that's why everyone wants vh asi weapons.

With only one penta, I think I could probably survive a gf combo in my snarby w/ shadow high uv's, but not in my shadowsun w/o shadow uv's.

I'd have to test this when I play.

Let me tell you this, full

Let me tell you this, full Shadowsun with one Penta still won't save you from a combo of max damage Gran Faust.
