Right now there isn't any real item that says "I have done everything in the game and junk". Considering there are no costumes that show this period, and there are no armors that show this considering they can be unbound and sold which eliminates any real value in my opinion.

So, I think that players should receive a Volcanic / Divine / Shadow themed Proto Armor, based on which proto armor and color scheme they chose in the beginning.

These would be COSTUME items or 0 STAR items identical to proto. This way, it isn't unbindable, as these are supposed to have value to them.

To keep the starter proto armor chosen by the player unique to the player, the armor you receive will be like this:

If you chose Spiral Pith Helm -> You get a Spiral Pith Helm.
If you chose Spiral Tailed Helm -> You get a Spiral Tailed Helm.
If you chose Spiral Sallet -> You get a Spiral Sallet.

If you chose Spiral Cuirass -> You get a Spiral Cuirass.
If you chose Spiral Brigandine -> You get a Spiral Brigandine.
If you chose Spiral Culet -> You get a Spiral Cullet.
_________________________________________________________________________

The color you receive will be based on the hue of the secondary color of the color of your original Proto Armors.

If you chose Toasty or Heavy Proto Starter armors -> You will receive Volcanic Proto costume.
If you chose Dusky or Fancy Proto Starter armors -> You will receive Shadow Proto costume.
If you chose Military, Regal, or Cool Proto Starter Armors -> You will receive Divine Proto costume.

Now, how to obtain. As stated earlier, we need an armor that says "I have done it all" for players, which is not tradable.

You obtain this after you have done the following:

1. Completed every achievement.

>> Self explanatory

2. Defeated and gained clearance to all Tier 3 Shadow Lairs.

>>I bolded "and" because you not only have to defeat Darkfire Vana, but you have to defeat all other SL in order to gain access to it as well to meet part of the criteria to obtain the special Proto costume. I bolded "all" because that means any FUTURE Shadow Lair added must be completed. Yes, shadow lairs have tiers to them.

3. Get on the leader boards for either Lockdown or Blast Network

>>Not difficult, you don't even need to be good at either. You just have to play a lot of it for however long it is until the leader boards reset.

NOTE: I am not big into PvP in this game and don't have a great knowledge on the leader boards. If anyone has more details on the leader boards and how ridiculous this criteria may be, I may eliminate this from the criteria as this is a PvE-based game.

4. Completed all missions (this includes OCH as well as any future Danger Missions. OOO said they are making OCH more tradable for everyone rather than just Steam in the future in a patch note).

>>Self explanatory

5. Gained over 9,000 prestige

>>Self explanatory.

Purchasing the armor after meeting all criteria above.

The armor is purchased from the NPC dual wielding FFs at the core (If someone has her name, that would be nice). It will cost 225,000 crowns each piece of proto armor to buy, and you can only buy the proto armor set based on your starter proto armor explained above. This way, your proto choices will remain unique.

Prismatic Proto armors.

As reward for the oldest players of Spiral Knights, any player with Groundbreaker Armor has the opportunity to also buy Prismatic Proto armors in addition to their Divine / Volcanic / Shadow proto armors.

If they have both Groundbreaker armor and have met all of the criteria for the Volc / Divine / Shadow Proto armors, then they also get the option to buy Prismatic Proto armors for 725,000 crowns each piece.

Yes, this is also a crown sink. Personally, I do not have Groundbreaker armor, but ever since the accessories / height given to new players for free, I feel that the older players deserve something special.

Please see this thread on how we also implement the option to change the proto armor we chose incase someone doesn't like what they chose

(personally, the color scheme and type reflects my own decisions and I would never change my own to keep my choices unique)

Succinct, informative, reasonable, and a little sarcastic.

Chocolate icing and sprinkles and you have my vote for president.

I'ma have to give this a big

I'ma have to give this a big ol minus one. Why bother spending 225K crowns on Proto armor that's zero star and not tradable? It's just not worth it at all. You want it for looks, you say? There are many costumes that would look better than these variations of the Proto armor. That and we should not be locked into this from what we chose last year. We should be able to choose what we want, anyway. The requirements are a bit ridiculous, as well.

I guess +1.

I like it, I like it. (Of course I do, I'd be getting Shadow.) I have a few questions and notes, though. :o

"I bolded "all" because that means any FUTURE Shadow Lair added must be completed. Yes, shadow lairs have tiers to them." "OOO said they are making OCH more tradable for everyone rather than just Steam in the future in a patch note)."

What happens to players with the armor already, when a new DLC or Danger Mission comes out? Do they lose the armor, along with the 450k they spent? Does the armor become locked somehow, so they can't use it, and if so, what happens if it's a 0-Star item that they're wearing and the armor is locked? No armor at all?

"The armor is purchased from the NPC dual wielding FFs at the core (If someone has her name, that would be nice). It will cost 225,000 crowns each piece of proto armor to buy..."

Her name is Vaelyn, and one is a Grand Flourish, they're not both 5*. But more importantly, isn't 225k a little steep for a 0-Star/costume?

I like the idea otherwise, though.

Hmm...If this were to happen,

Hmm...If this were to happen, they might as well let you CHOOSE the one you get. I chose culet in the beginning and I'm not happy about it. And 225,000 cr for a dumb costume? After doing all those requirements you said we should get it for free!

I like it, except for three parts-

"To keep the starter proto armor chosen by the player unique to the player, the armor you receive will be like this:"

and

"3. Get on the leader boards for either Lockdown or Blast Network"

and

"As reward for the oldest players of Spiral Knights, any player with Groundbreaker Armor has the opportunity to also buy Prismatic Proto armors in addition to their Divine / Volcanic / Shadow proto armors."

-------

Number 3 is flawed in that Blast Network and Lockdown are flawed in their scoring systems, and are mini-games at that. A better requirement would be to make achievements for these games, and force the player to have played them through that…. but forcing players to try for the armors through the crap scoring system? No thank you.

Rewarding players for being in the beta… was already done. They have groundbreaker. Its already disheartening knowing that I can't get that one armor set, and that I will never be "pro" and that I'm just "another non-beta player"… beta players already have that above me, why do they need this? Maybe I'm just being selfish, but I don't want to have to buy the "second class" armor to show off how awesome and- oh thats right, I'm not a beta player, I shouldn't be talking.

Why not just let people choose their ending armor? People already complain about how they chose a heavy armor when they should have chosen a fancy armor, and that they would like to have a redo. While having unique armors per knight is a cool idea, many people are not happy with their decision to lack pigtails, and many others would rather show off their awesomeness with shadowy armor when they perhaps would buy volcanic.

What I'd rather see, is a shop at the end like you're saying, but with the option to buy any and all proto sets- when you beat the achievements etc. that they would describe to you, they would sell you the special costume armors. And you're right, make it a huge cr sink, but make it at the core because that would be fitting and it is boring down there. If the core ever does come out, I'm sure it can be moved off to the side some place.

New things will be added to the game.

And then they will take your armour away from you and you will be naked.
