Hi, My names Azwar. I'm three days new to Spiral Knights. when I first started the experience I've gained within this game was fairly new and pretty much worth it. The problem is when i play the missions sometimes i get randomly disconnected and I end up losing the "CE" anyway. This may have been brought up before and I'm sorry if it has but I'm wondering will anyone from the SK team will do something about this so that the ce isn't used in vein. Also I'm still wondering why my connection keeps randomly dcing if you guys have any advice or and links to send me to help this problem it would be much appreciated.

EDIT: my connection is verizon, (my mothers network) thankfully not linsky as I've previously viewed past posts

Are you talking about going

Are you talking about going down the elevator, the 10 energy fee? That fee is taken the moment you go down, regardless of completion or progress.

I can't help you on connection problems, someone else will have to answer that.

Click one of the payment options, and find the elevator pass to buy. Or you can open the energy depot while ingame. Just click on your ce tab, and it should pop up. From there, you can find a drop down list of ce packages and other stuff you can buy, with the payment options under it.

For real?

Azwar doesn't have a stable connection and you guys are recommending him to buy an elevator pass? So he can use the elevator pass to jump into the level before boss, then get disconnected before the boss is dead? Talk about wasting money!

Azwar you should first find out why you get disconnected, and how.

- Were you kicked back to the login screen? Or did your Spiral Knight application closed?
- Were you using a physical cable or wireless?
- After you get disconnected could you login again?
- After you login, look at the upper right corner, in the upper right corner of the minimap. There's a connection strength meter there, a square with black background color. Do you see white bars, two yellow bars or a red dot?

You may get disconnected from a wide range of reasons. It could be a problem in hardware, software, your network device or your ISP. Figure out why you get disconnected first, before putting down your money.

Much Appreciated Evilnut

Well... the bar connection is always 4-5 lengths never goes down and the game always freezes before the disconnection appears and it takes me a while to get my actual internet connection to star working again before i can start to play. The Diagnostics always gives me a notice saying "the connection or device is broken and/or the DNL i think or DSL isn't working properly (honestly it says DNL most of the time so i go with that).

- So you rebooted your network device to get the connection back? You may contact your ISP and have them check if the device's okay, particularly when it's been working for a while and under stress.

- Does your whole system freezes, or is it just Spiral Knights? By freeze do you mean SK is not responding, or could you describe what you see on screen?

Sorry Icy and to Evilnut

to Icy: sorry Icy but I have to worry about the connection strength
before I can actually buy stuff or it'll be a waste to me for buying anything here.

to Evilnut: when i say freeze it stops running and then sends me right back to the
sign in screen and when i try logging back in
it says try waiting before rejoining server or something like that and thank you.

It seems your computer lost

It seems your computer lost connection to network... so the Spiral Knights client have no choice but to return you to login screen.

Have you tried using internet when that happened? Open browser to say Google.com, and press Ctrl-F5 to force a refresh.

You mentioned you have to reboot your router/modem to get back online. If so my previous suggestion stands: You have to contact your ISP and have them send a technician to check it out.

A better opinion if ye really

A better opinion if ye really want to check a clearer result and whether know if ye did disconnect, or not.

Here, open up yer Command Prompt and type the following command in:

/ping www.google.com -t

This will update every information every second about yer connection, e.g. latency etc.

Sample for successful ping results:

C:\>ping -n 2 -l 1450 131.107.8.1
Pinging 131.107.8.1 with 1450 bytes of data:

Reply from 131.107.8.1: bytes=1450 time<10ms TTL=32
Reply from 131.107.8.1: bytes=1450 time<10ms TTL=32

Ping statistics for 131.107.8.1:
Packets: Sent = 2, Received = 2, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate roundtrip times in milliseconds:
Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 10ms, Average = 2ms

If there is a general failure or the destination is not reachable, then there is a problem with yer ISP.

Sample of failures:
Reply from 131.107.8.1: Destination net unreachable
General failure.

That's all I can help.

Congratulations

Now you can consider Icyvampire's advice about an elevator pass... the price of one cup of coffee (well, it is for me) and you get a month of free elevator rides, with your 100 x 30 = 3000 mist you can use to do whatever you want. :3

EDIT: Actually, forget it. I haven't read about what happened when I replied. Here I am, with 20k CE in my account, one RSS now impotent against greavers (and many other things), one UV ticket. While others exploited the hell out of the patch and got over 100 UV tickets. Way to go, OOO.
