I know that the situation for the suggestions seems up and up, but I just feel like getting these things out there, we still need some way to promote uber-ideas among a lot more of the forum-goers, I know they have it in them to be awesome.
I can think of a few things that could be done, I know this is nowhere near as complete as a true system would be, but there needs to be a start somewhere.

  1. make the more intellectual of the regulars mini-mods
or, at least, give them some form of power. Not so much that we have a bunch of psycho dictators on our hands, but enough that they can do something against spam threads, or help to get some of the more thought out or unique idea threads noticed.
  2. make a stickied thread that acts as a 'thread of the week' or something
exactly what it says on the tin. A thread that acts to show off a well thought out idea, and hopefully drums support for it. mayhaps seeing threads like this will inspire others to increase their own abilities as related to idea storming -- likening it to an award, something to aspire to.
  3. auto-moving to graveyard
this is more cleaning clutter than anything else, but it could be useful. Once something hasn't gotten responses in so long a period of time, it could get moved to the graveyard. a minor thing, but could work well...
  4. in the same vein -- moving to graveyard after so many double, triple, quadri-posts
I'm sure we've all seen the one guy who just will not let something die... they keep posting replies to themselves to keep their thread front page, and usually dont stop for a very long time. Either through the previously mentioned mini-mod system, or through some other, after so many consecutive replies by the OP, the thread gets moved to the graveyard.
  5. a karma system
yes, yes, I know that this has been suggested to death, but hear me out first. please. With the correct system of checks and balances, this could potentially be used to sort between ideas that are blech, and ideas that are, to put it bluntly, pretty good. its not the biggest idea on the list, but its one to be considered. I would say something like -- one vote per person per certain time period -- or something similar so that spam voting can't occur.
  6. ok. thats pretty much it. I don't think this list is perfect -- far from it, in fact -- and any constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated. Other than that, just respond, praise it, hate it, ask to marry it... I truly just wanted to get this out there. maybe, on some crazy off chance, someone will see this, someone with power, and want to push something on this list through, but that's a dream. for now I can wish for a new age ( ;_;)

1. The only power a forumite

1. The only power a forumite needs on the forum, is respect from his fellow posters. And even now, that is a bit too much power. There has been several examples of this. A forumite known by others puts a suggestion thread down. It's followed by vague posters, probably just reached double digit in the amount of total posts, putting it down along with the forumite. Even if the ideas in the thread are salvageable, it isn't because the people have given it up due to a few forumites' stance on it.

2. A stickied thread linking to the good suggestions would be a better idea, although your idea it could be implemented under it.

3. Generally people don't look at anything beyond the first page, and few rarely venture to the second unless catching up due to absence or looking for a previous thread they made.

4. Not many of these in the forum, mostly confined to the bazaar for people bumping their stores. I don't feel like it is needed, simply because it will only attract well deserved hate and put-downs.

5. No. Have you seen how many threads complaining about ce? Now imagine all those people +1 the thread asking ce to be locked or lowered. Or the people asking for more monster nerfs. Granted, we haven't had many of those these couple of weeks, but they were prevalent months past. The major focus of those, after the most recent nerfs, were about devilites. Those haven't changed yet, which means they still could be.
