I'm wondering if a UV of Attack Speed: Low on a Brandish is worth using over a specialized damage type such as Fiend/Beast/Slime. With the intention being to go down the Combuster line. Any thoughts?

I'd take the attack speed, definitely, if it was a choice between attack speed low and bonus vs group low. Bonus vs group low is hardly any damage at all and not worth considering. -Any- amount of attack speed can make the difference for hitting the bad guy before he hits you. The more, the better off you are, of course.
1 point of atk speed increase is 4% as per forum testing. you can see it as an approximate increase in DPS by 4%. now do they numbers and take in consideration of the status inflictions, and pick one.
