Which one and how do you like it versus keyboard/mouse? It looks interesting, although not being able to type in chat might be tricky sometimes.

I use a wired Xbox 360

I use a wired Xbox 360 gamepad. It's pre-configured in SK, so it's plug and play. We're going to be expanding the support as time goes on, but right now everything in a dungeon can be done with the gamepad (save for chatting of course).

You can use the keyboard with

You can use the keyboard with the gamepad, or even the mouse with the gamepad (I've seen someone use the mouse to aim while running with the pad), so you can still converse.

I know the game works with Logitech pads as well as the xbox controllers, so if you're like me and you have small hands that struggle to reach all of the xbox buttons, there are other options out there for you.

i do, it makes for a much relaxing experience than mouse/keyboard. feels more like an old school game than the serious business some people take it for.

Logitech G13

Not sure if it’s the exactly the type of game pad you are referring to, but I use a Logitech G13. The little joy stick works quite well for movement while using your mouse to attack and aim.

A wise and really, really

A wise and really, really good looking man once said the following about using a controller, and I quote: "I move around the map like a gazelle, destroying everything in my path like the beast that I am."

I couldn't figure out how to

I couldn't figure out how to use items with the default gamepad settings (and I could not tell what meant what in the menus haha) sooo I use my Xbox 360 controller with some support from Xpadder. I just mapped a few buttons to keystrokes so yeah.

It's really nice. 8]

Custom Gamepad

I modified the controls to use an Xbox 360 gamepad to play. It's much more comfortable imho. The standard controls are a bit lacking though, they're geared towards sword using and make gunning more difficult, so I changed the controls to behave more like a twin-stick shooter. Now I move around with the left stick, aim with the right stick, attack with the right shoulder button, block with the right trigger, switch weapons with the left should button, use my items using the face buttons, and have emote commands mapped to the POV. I can also turn off autotargetting by holding the left trigger, which is helpful in tight quarters.

I use my wireless X Box 360

I use my wireless X Box 360 for Windows controller - movement feels amazing, and a trigger button for shielding is completely ingrained in my being by now. Dual sticks for guns just sounds awkward to me, but I have yet to actually try it. I literally just drop the controller and grab the mouse and keyboard if I need to gun.

I use an old cheapo

I use an old cheapo controller bought for about 5$. It works. I generally prefer it to keyboard/mouse. Is there a way to use a controller to navigate shop and inventory menus though?

I play it with a Logitech Precision. I enjoy using it far more than the keyboard/mouse. I had to configure the defend button though because it wasn't automatically assigned a button like everything else.

I use a Wii classic controller pro via an adapter. I use the kb and mouse only for chating and accessing menus. I works out great.

Thanks

Thanks for the responses everyone! I ordered a wired 360 controller to try it out. I like the idea of twin-sticks for guns.

I attempted to use a ps3

I attempted to use a ps3 controller, but the drivers that I found for the controller wouldnt work with windows 7. Apparently the drivers work with win xp but I dont want to bother with that.

Loving my ps3 controller

I've hooked up my ps3 controller (with the extra drivers) and it feels more responsive than mouse & keyboard. On the other hand I've missed quite a few vial throws since I started using the twin sticks. But I have terrible aim anyway...

My only problem when i play

My only problem when i play with my gamepad are guns, its impossible for me to aim with the stick. I would love a lock-on/switch between targets button to utilise the gamepad better.

Could you please explain how pre-configured it is? like what buttons do what by default

I am using a Logitech Gamepad F710.
Using Dual Sticks for guns, Not bad imho, but i require a better way to map my mouse.
Currently researching that.
This game is simple and easily played with gamepads.

Update:
Nvm nick,
Switched my gamepad mode to Xinput
Sarted up the game and gave it a whirl
But the control schemes are bad for guns
The default schemes are good for swords though

Wii

Well I use the Wii controller! =D I need to play this game with a controller, it feels so much like The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures.

PS2

Using my old PS2 controller with a USB converter (joybox) Works like a charm. It's slightly harder to aim a gun or throw objects tho.

So I've been using my PS3

So I've been using my PS3 controller... and it is so much better than the laptop keyboard ive used up until now. My only problem is my button settings never seem to save, so i have to set it everytime i get back on. Has anyone else had this problem and how do i fix it?
