Spiral Knights Mobile App Thoughts

I was thinking that since most online games have some sort of way to view your stats and achievements on a mobile app (Mostly for gloating purposes), i thought that this game could use one as well. For example, you could use the app to check mist levels, see when friends are on in your friends list, show off your current loadout for your knight, check current trade rates for CE and CR, as well as check recent game updates and posts.
These are just some ideas of an app that could be implemented. The app is just ment to be a side idea and not offer anything to your or the game in any way. Its just to "show off" and check current information that may change how you play Spiral Knights and how often you do it.
Now i leave it to you community, does this idea have merrit or should i just throw it in the bin now?

If there are soo many threads with this idea, then why hasn't OOO's done anything about making it happen? You think they would get the hint by now. Also, my apologies if i made another thread with this idea, Not my intention.

Because you can't easily
Because you can't easily translate an MMO, coded in Java, to an iOS or Android mobile device. Also, they have a very small team actually working on the game right they're focused on balancing new content, future proofing RSS, Iron Slug, etc., and doing the netcode for new guild stuff ATM.

It's also a poor business
It's also a poor business decision. Mobile apps cost tens of thousands of dollars to make on average, and while some games can afford to do a free app as a loss leader (e.g. WoW armory), I really doubt OOO 1. can afford it, and 2. would get much out of it

If you cant play, what' the point of both. Stalking friends?

see above, if you check prices with phone instead of opening the game.. it must be because you cant access the game (or extreme laziness).. in wich case does it matter to know the rates? you cant do anything about it. It wont benefit you in any way.

Use a regular browser to open forums.

Apps!

@Duke Many mobile applications are coded in Java, especially in the day before Smartphones
@Juances Just because you can't play at the moment doesn't mean it's impossible to socialize. Private messages (of the /tell variety) aren't too high-tech at the moment, but having the ability to send your friend a mail through the mail system could be an interesting concept. Current trade rates are interesting to me due to how long it takes for Spiral to start up on my system, when all I want to do is check energy prices which I may not even buy. Finally, if the application exists, why not have game updates/forum integrated into it?

yea i personally think its a great idea!!
it might be hard to implement the game itself into an iOS, but there should be an app to check your character, prestige daily missions and all that. announcements might be nice too. and friend management.
maybe not the whole game. but those waypoint apps that is similar to COD elite, BF3 app, and Halo waypoint
I've been thinking a mobile app would be a good addition. Honestly, though, it is so I can bid on things up the second on the AH. I have an eBay app, why can't I have a SK AH app?
