I play Spiral Knights on Steam and so i played the game, got bored, got bored from no games to play, the re-downloaded the game earlier today. Now though, when I open it, it shows as a window with black screen. Then it just closes. There isn't any sign that the window is open yet, it still says in the Steam Client that I am online and playing Spiral Knights. I cannot restart Steam or change my status to just ''Online''. I tried restarting my computer but it did the same and I don't want to restart again because it takes ages. Also when i play another game, for instance, Modern Warfare 2, the Steam Client still says I am playing Spiral Knights. Can you guys give me some help or one of the Steam/Spiral Knight staff help? Thanks.

I have just the same problem. I downloaded the game yesterday. When I launched the game I got the same black window that just closed. I launched the game several times but the same thing happened. Then, I watch all the process that were running on my PC (via task manager) and I saw that a had several java in the list.
So I uninstalled the game, I updated my graphic card's driver, updated java and reinstalled the game but the same problem occured.
I also made the changes in the registries that were advised in the wikia (http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Technical_issues_FAQ).
I just tried anything I could but the game doesn't work, in any internet browser either.
Can someone help us out ? Thanks.

I can't help you try and play the game, but all I did was enter Task Manager and delete Spiral Knights which was open.
This is also happening to me. I can run the game off the website but not through steam. SOMEONE HELP US PLEASE!!!
