Here is a short, but proper demonstration of what kind of latency lag Asian/Australian players has to go through.

Just a note, i recorded this an hour ago, and this is how my lag is on a good day.

We REALLY need our own server. Its ridiculous having to play like this, don't get me started on Lockdown. The game is now getting to the point that 80% of the time i get hit its due to latency lag. For those who don't know, Latency Lag is something that happens to Asian/Australian players since the US/EU servers are so far away and the data actually has to cross the pacific ocean. (In other words, when i hit shield, there is about a second delay before the server registers that i hit shield)

And I heard about this "privatized" Asian server, all i have to say about that is "Are you out of your f#%&ing mind OOO!?", separating the asians from the rest of the players. Just NO. The Austrasian server should be added in the same way the EU server was.

Aww. :(
That really sucks.
But, understand this, OOO can't just say "ok we're getting a server for them".
Servers cost A LOT to buy and maintain...
You will, eventually, get your server.
But you'd have to play alone or with other people on that server, otherwise, you or your buddies would lag A LOT.

I know a few Australian

I know a few Australian players (Avixi comes to mind) who at one point put up a video where they block/dodge an entire 1 second before an attack, but I myself see the shield come up a near instant the attack is about to hit.

So on my side I'm thinking Avixi has cat-like reflexes, but when I watch that video, I'm thinking Avixi has clairvoyance.

An Asian and Australian server would be really nice but setting up international servers isn't easy, let alone cheap.

I am chilean (sudamerica) and this things happends to me in PVe and Lockdown everyday, I can hardly evade a voltedge, fog charge attack (the same thing with the trojan in the video but in ld, i really evade but they hitme anyways cuz my actions are taked more slowly, bad response of the server), can hardly hit/kill a gunner runner style cuz they allways are one steep forward in response from server, to hit him i have to anticipate his move and hit the "air" o "space" of when he will be after, and everybody allways hit me from far (when they really do not hit me but they hit me anyways) example: When i hit a striker then i turn to do another atack, this striker hit me when i am doing the circle :S (far far away). I cannot play as guardian in pvp cuz the shield is iluseless, i turn shield but the damage is taken like i was no shielding (slow response from the server). I died in pvp mostly times for my bad latency with a better conectivity easily could do over 40k dmg.

YOU ARE NOT THE LOCKDOWN GODESS YOU SEEM TO THINK YOU ARE.

I'm just sick of you talking about what a great Lockdown player you are. You challenged Exiled. You backed out. You post screen shots of your highest damage (which is mediocre at best imho) in threads that don't even ASK for screenshots. The point of this post is to ask you (kindly?) to stop. It's fine that you get excited over a new personal record. Who doesn't? But to post it on the forums and act like it's a new world record is just annoying. If you don't know what I'm talking about with the damage thingy, then go read some Lockdown related threads. I can't remember which one and I don't feel like linking it.

Lockdown, not even part of the main game but people brag about it anyway. (inb4 rage filled replies from people that only play LD)

On topic... Giving these people their own server would also help the rest of us by taking the load off of the other servers. Its pretty annoying imo to have a 30mb/sec download 5mb/sec upload speed connection and only get 2-3 bars from the server that is in my own country.

I dont have problems with exile, i am in aquitas guild, exile is in my guild too, i dont have any problem with him, and more, i dont figth with anybody, the only problematic person is u.

You post screen shots of your highest damage (which is mediocre at best imho) --> if u says that, u are saying the mayority of the ld players are mediocres, i askining u what is ur highest damage and then call me mediocre, my best damage is 35k with 260 ping and no AA, and urs? oh wait, u didnt even play LD.. osea hello :S, the rules are simples, when less ping u have, more dmg u get, if u dont play LD u cant understand that so u dont have opinion, cuz of that i ignore u so byebye.

I would love to post my highest damage, but that would reveal the name of my main account. Hint: I double, if not triple, your damage almost every time we meet in Lockdown.

EDIT: Oh, I thought your highest damage was 31k. My mistake. Maybe it's not as mediocre as I had originally thought, but it's still not a world record.

Yay for the vid Enclavean, now more people can see that lag isn't always just an excuse. Soloing tends to suck a bit when dodging gets hard, having allies to take some of the aggro off helps a lot. Pity that setting up a server takes time and money though, looks like that's the main issue.

I'm guessing the clairvoyance part was due to their extra carefulness and attentiveness when battling, with the players predicting and acting earlier to avoid taking damage. It works a lot less effectively if you're in a pinch though, but for easier normal situations it can get you through most of the time. Lag is definitely adaptable, but the amount of adaptation to negate the effects relies heavily on the amount of lag, from my experiences. In the vid Enc posted, I guess you could adapt by returning to Haven, or maybe joining a party and going gunner instead.

On the topic of lag and Lockdown, while lag creates a large disadvantage, the rest relies on other factors, such as skill, gear and strategy. Not having lag does not always increase performance dramatically, but having lag can severely limit performance in LD, similar to how the epic gear does not equal epic player performance, but it certainly does help a lot.

U just put a screen with no name that can be anybody, to leet u know i play a lot of LD games and never i play the same way, the most secure is i was playing like gunner in that game.

Tips u should knows abouth my games:

1.- as Striker: When i am lagging i do 9-10k dmg like my more lower dmg, never do lower than that.
2.- as striker When i am not lagging and play bad: i do between 17-19k dmg.
3.- as striker when i am eating and playing at the same time: i do between 5k dmg and 15kdmg around.
4.- as striker when i am playing seriusly but with lag: depends of the magnify of lag but between 5k dmg to 20k dmg.
5.- as striker when i am playing seriusly and withouth lag: beetween 20k to 35kdmg (With 2 bars, 245 ping, is my best condition).
6.- as gunner: between 8k - 15kdmg.
7.- as status bomber: between 3k to 15k dmg.

Soo, u cant compare scores like that, all can do it the same ways, if u gives ur name i can show u alots of screen shots with my over ur score.

Hi. Two American friends of mine from Puzzle Pirates decided to play and asked me (Australian) to join them.
It sounded like fun. We have played a few different games together.
I gave up after the bomb training where you get some mission.
The lag was incredibly bad. Went from being on a step to suddenly being near some cliff.
Couldn't keep up and I didn't want to be a burden so thought it best to quit the game.

So from a business point of view what does this mean....

1/ One Australian (Me) not playing SK - There is a 100 percent liklihood that if I had enjoyed the game I would have spent rl money on it.

2/ My 5 gaming relatives not playing SK -.THere is a 100 percent liklihood of me having to spend rl money on SK for them if they had played.

3/ If my two American friends continue to play and it appears as though they will, as from what I have read, it sounds like an enjoyable game for those without lag, then they will not be playing PP. That will mean it is unlikely I will play PP and hence I will not be spending my $ on it.

I wish you would get an Australian server. Now I need to try to find some other enticing game with no lag for Australians or Americans to entice my friends to.

You are not lagless... you just don't have uneven latency, which was shown in Encalvean's video.

I'm in Hong Kong, with a red dot connection, but I also don't have too much uneven latency. That means I can estimate how things will move pretty accurately most of the time. But there is always a delay for data to travel from server to my computer.

Try this:
1. Find a spike trap.
2. Stand next to it and observe it. Very carefully time the trap activation visually - note how many times it flashes.
3. Now stand on the edge of the deactivated trap.
4. Try to move away from it only at the last moment of the flashing period, using the visual clue.

With Asia's latency that is even, you'd be hit even if you move off the trap while it's at the end of the flashing period. Because it's already up on server-side. You have to start crossing a trap late and finish early.

With Asia's latency that is uneven, you may be hit even if you move off the trap when it's just starting to flash. Because you don't even have a chance to time the trap properly - you never know if that visual clue you just saw is being late or being very late.

The latency and some events being handled server side means I will never be able to do stuff like running between Vanaduke's fireballs spamming RSS, dodge in LD, or safely run on top of that giant patch of spikes in the first room of FSC d26.

Or those 11-seconds slag walker fire breath that will break your Crest of Almire/Grey Owlite, because the signal for them to stop breathing fire arrived late to your client, so your client continue to let it hit you.

It's incredible how they're selling Asian players out to some other company for management. I've paid two hundred bucks into this game, expecting that we would get a server someday. Instead they hand us over to Gamecyber, who's probably not going to let us sync our current accounts from the main server onto the privatized server. This means if I want to play without lag I have to start over and be segregated from my American/European friends. That's just sad and it disgusts me.

And it means that F2P players living in regions with servers get 10x better service than P2P players living in ignored regions.

Skills sometimes do no matter as much as lag =.=
Though I am a fail player, I still have some experiences myself :3
Without lag: It is 10 P.M and I am quite tired, reflexes are slow and eyes grew fuzzy. Luckily there was no lag. So I spammed my hammer towards everyone I can see and still got 15k damage.
With lag: It is 9 A.M, just woke up and should be in the best position to play. Unluckily it is laggy playing with those US players. So......*dash* hit from 6 squares. *dash**circles to the back* a FF popped out from nowhere. I=dead. I could only sit in my chair giggling OMG.
Also, the Hong Kong/Macau/Taiwan server is out. But that is an independent one and you cannot switch your player there. You'll have to make a new character. Besides, everything is Chinese.
*sigh*

Yeah, Understandably another server isnt cheap, but prenny-pinching by far can and will backfire.
