So I'm one of those players getting bored at endgame, when this update comes to me. And it is beautiful. Albiet not a giant content update, but still awesome. Compound 42 gave me a good challenge and some great fun. And i have to say that i love that the other boss theme is finally getting some use at the end the mission. I'm sure some would disagree with me, but hey, I like that there is at leaast some new content. Keep up the good work guys.

Too bad not all players were let to enjoy new content. Just because update servers fault that causes servers loose connection to update client (you can download files for 1 minute and then multiple minutes of flat connection, no data received) many players could not update game to play new mission and when they finally update game and logged in, they got LoA available instead of C42 (since it already switched) and have to wait 24 hours to play new mission.
When I played it on the test server, I was a little worried due to its relentless and over-the-top brutality. Now I've played the final version, I'm happy to say it doesn't possess the issues of its test server counterpart and is very fun. :D
I'll give the mission a try in 2 days and tell you how it goes. Buck 50 says it'll be... a lot less painful than before.
The name for the mission is actually derived from the game code. We use a numeric system in our configuration files for assigning status conditions to attacks. Poison is 2 and Fire is 4.
I realize that this is far less exciting than C4 and HGttG...

@Tersakaff: Dont worry,I didnt get through it either.Its so intense and the poison oil stuff is literally everywhere.The poison oil traps you so that the only way to kill the lichens is to wait for them to come to you.And then once you do kill them,the polyps spawn new ones. And the gremlins lighting everything on fire doesnt help either.This danger mission is really making me consider getting that dragon scale set. But Id like to see more combinations of statuses like this one! Hm...freeze+shock......Overall,good job,OOO, at creating something entirely new and challenging!

I've done it in dragon scale! Q_Q Maybe we should get together and try it duo, when it's switched in? I mean, solo might be harder with everything aggroing you..
And freeze+shock can't work, when you're shocked the ice would break lmao.
Stun+Shock would probably be my bet for hardest status combo.
Curse doesn't really combo well with any status.
Sleep only really combos with Poison, I think?, and even that wouldn't be terrible.
Similarly Freeze doesn't combo very well with others. Perhaps Freeze+Curse would be bad in terms of just being nuisances. Perhaps coupled with mob generators while you're unable to deal with them efficiently.
Thats true...freeze+shock wouldnt work.Perhaps shock+curse?If they put sleep back in the game but removed the healing aspect of it,that would add even more variation to work with....They could always bring back the shrine of slumber as a danger mission but rework it somehow...i dunno.That belongs in suggestions though,not here.

It's true that Curse is good with most anything else but it doesn't combo the same way Stun + Shock would for instance imo.
Stun prolongs the attack that Shock inevitably will flinch. They're both doing the same kind of thing (inhibiting your movement/attacks).
Curse inhibits some of your attacks I suppose. It's definitely good with a lot. But doesn't combo, imo, the same way that Damage and inability to heal (poison + fire) does.
I guess my definition of combo is for the effects to have some noticeable overlap in their effects.
Though I may be talking out of my rear, =p

Hm...curse+stun?That way,your cursed and cant use weapons or vials(unless you have all 4 vial slots filled) and your stuck keeping away from monsters,which the stun will slow you down and hinder your escape.Could be interesting,or maybe freeze+curse...?

Edit: We can put statuses together all we want,but we need to figure out how it would be represented. The poison oil for example deals poison and can be lit on fire(i think.) For freeze+curse,a way it could be shown could be that when you get frozen,the ice around you is a reddish color and the curse symbol floats magically above your head as usual,so it would be essentially "cursed ice."Man...somebody needs to put these ideas in the suggestion forums.

On the new DM, I haven't gotten a chance to try it out yet.
It's basically loads of Slimes spamming Area Denial attacks and loads of Polyps spamming the Slimes so you get hit regardless of how good your dodging is, prehaps nobody remembers that the other mission that does this (Terminal Meltdown) was one of the worse missions in the game because of it.
Say what you like about Legion of Almire, at least that mission had genuine difficulty.
I haven't got the chance to try it yet. So you are saying even liberal application of shivermist buster won't help to create space where other teammates launch charge attacks from?
Don't have a Shivermist but if all the Scorchers, Mortafires, Flamethrower Traps and the fact that these new Slimes can 'leap' (like Giant Lichen Colonies) leaving poison oil trails as they go are anything to go by I don't think even that would be much help...
In that mission, to me it's impossible for me to not touch the poison oils but that's the reason why is challenging :D
Actually, curse/freeze sounds interesting. I still don't know if curse damage interrupts freeze. I doubt they will mix stun with anything until we see a normal stun dungeon. I could see them making a fire/freeze dungeon, just because it'd be interesting, no armor protects against both, and you could have fun trying to navigate enemies around traps.
I'm sort of glad that they haven't mixed shock with anything (except fire, but there's enough gear that guards both fire and shock). Shock uvs go for a lot because of how useful they are everywhere in the game.
Don't you guys know that you don't take damage from the poison goo? (unless it is on fire)
But when you do take damage it's increased, your own damage is halved, and you can't heal yourself.

Not 250ms ping friendly; then again, it takes half a second for the server to realize I'm trying to shield. I found myself going to unintentional direction or warp into the fire when a Toxoil zips across me like a dodging wolver and laying poison poos on fire.
Maybe I'll somehow "automagically" get used to it, just like when Almirian Crusader's spear length actually feel twice as long and their length of their attack is still undetermined since predicting when they strike is not possible.
