Yes.. I just do the Compound 42. I wear Deadly Virulisk Suit Poison High. The maximum poison duration I have got is 5 second. Is that the only what the resist can do?

Just to put it in perspective, I went in with no Poison resist and was poisoned for about 12 seconds at a time.
Add a 5* poison trinket and you might find you don't get poisoned at all.
Maxing out the poison resistance would allow you to step on the poisonous oil without inflicting any poison whatsoever.
(Tested wearing a Shadowsun Stetson with poison resist low UV and a Shadowsun Slicker with normal damage defense low, no trinkets were used)
ps. Any set maxing out the poison resist bar would do, no unique variants necessary
You need max + max + low. (Each Shadowsun piece has built-in max.) Simply wearing two clean Shadowsun pieces would not give you immunity.
