its still not a bad deal u have a 1 in 6 chance of getting the red tabard so chances are if u want it u may spend more than 4k ce getting it plus after the event is over I honestly expect these items to skyrocket in value as being no longer obtainable

Zeirnaton, that would be true if you only got the rare item for your money. But in fact, $10 gives you a whole lot of energy, and you're trading all that (and more!) for just the (cosmetic) item alone.
This game's business model is different from the "pretty item cash shop" I hear is common elsewhere. Something to keep in mind when deciding what's a good value. (For reference, you could probably get someone to make you a 5* item with actual stats for ~1k-1.3k CE)
If you really want to sell these rare items, you might EVENTUALLY get 4k energy for it... but my advice would be to wait until at least 3 months after the promotion is done, to increase rarity. Then you won't be competing with the game for customers. (*unless, of course, these items are offered again in the future)

I'd agree this is an unreasonable price on the surface, but to a desperate collector that's already dropped 50 bucks trying to get something specific .... well, they have the energy to burn, and they may be tired of looking for that one particular item in trade chat.
I can also understand it needing to be worth it to him to part with it, as it's something he'll never have the opportunity to own again. There comes a point where anything less and you'd just rather wear it yourself.
If you buy energy with real money, then your $10 package gets you 3500 energy, plus a rare item.
You are trying to parlay your purchase of 3500 energy (which came with an item) for 4k energy (in exchange for just the item). This is not a good deal, ESPECIALLY while the special offer is still running.
