So, being away from the game for a long time (besides a quickdrop during steam winter events)
Got kicked out of my guild, for a good reason thou (inactivity sucks) :|
I noticed they talked about changing AP and Sentenza to pure guns.
Was it changed or just talk?

Having an AP and a Sen as a gun-user, along with prob a shadowsun set.
Shouldn't that be viable now as an avarage all-around setup? : D AP vs construct and undead, and Sen vs Slime and those damn grems?

Tried to search for topics regarding running only those 2 weapons but could not find any good topic (or any topic) about it.

Currently trying to check out what this mission thing is all about and enjoying new things!

EDIT: I also noticed I still have my saved 600+ Luminite and 400+ Valestone, might be a good time to use it on a gate soon ^^

Yup, they changed it a while

Yup, they changed it a while back. Along with the introduction of missions, if I recall correctly. (Late February)

AP has a bonus med Vs Undead

AP has a bonus med Vs Undead and the Sentenza has a bonus med Vs Gremlin. I have no idea why they added that to the sentenza, would've liked med VS Slime more.

Additionally, Slimes were originally not weak to Shadow.

Sentenza was basically intended with anti-Grems in mind.
A DB Slimes bonus wouldn't thematically fit, nor was the Sentenza particularly effective against them previous to the change.

yes, see the wiki

You can read the wiki pages on Argent Peacemaker and Sentenza. Their descriptions are accurate, and their damage tables have even been updated. (A few months ago, the damage of guns and bombs was bumped up a bit.)

So you're looking at an elemental gun and a shadow gun. Yes, that loadout will work. Any two of piercing, elemental, and shadow will work. In fact, any mixture of swords and guns containing two of piercing, elemental, and shadow will work (although some combinations are better than others).

Shadowsun's a great set, but consider getting some other damage type protections. Then again, if you're a pure gunner, then defense isn't quite as important as it is to a sworder or bomber.

Processing Thoughts of You Always

That should be a perfectly viable loadout. The Shadowsun got a considerable buff whilst you were inactive, making it a lot more viable than it previously was. You may also want to consider the Mask of Seerus if you're using Drivers or Needles/Pepperbox, since it has CTR Med, ASI Low and Shock and Fire resistance (in exchange for half Freeze and Poison weakness). PMoS/Shadowsun Slicker makes a good loadout, especially combined with Swiftstrike.

Edit: Please note that the PMoS is only craftable through the Operation: Crimson Hammer expansion pack, which needs Steam to be purchased/traded from another player. You can buy them on the AH, but they are often at exorbitant prices and you may find it more worthwhile to get the expansion pack. Completing the mission will give you a pure-elemental sword (the Rocket Hammer of appropriate star level) and a pure-shadow damage bomb (the Dark Rewhatever of appropriate star level).

But he's using Argent Peacemaker and Sentenza. Original poster, those charge attacks are not great. You don't want to be spamming them in any kind of dangerous situation. So, for those guns, ASI and DAM seem more important than CTR.

Operation: Crimson Hammer expansion pack, which needs Steam to be purchased/traded from another player

If you're not on Steam, you can also purchase it with real money, of course.

Thanks for all the answers. I

Thanks for all the answers.

I am using the game via steam (did it to get the Christmas event thingie)
About the resistance on gear.. well.

Been running all content before the patch with undead/slime towers with cobalt 4* items, and a 4* calibur mostly. :>
Not used to resistance what so ever, so prob preferring damage gear over survival ^^
The new mission places, how hard are they compared to all that? : D

Got a Silversix, so its a good way unto AP,
I do own a Cryo driver, is it equal in value to a Blackhawk?
Selling or trading it away for one, if its possible ^^
If not, I better start running slimey king, managed to "give away" my old tokens to brothers and friends earlier :(

Most of the missions are rehashed miniature Clockworks strata, so they are exactly as hard as the Clockworks you know. A few of the missions (The Silent Legion, for example) are interestingly different, but about as hard as what you know. The danger missions (especially Compound 42) are harder. Shadow Lairs are definitely harder.

I do own a Cryo driver, is it equal in value to a Blackhawk?

They have different damage types and different kinds of paths (people serious about Cryo will mass-craft it at 2-star, while Blackhawk is a boss reward). Buying items that require unbinding is really costly, so your market is pretty small. If I were you, I'd just keep it. But maybe someone who actually follows the prices will chime in differently.

I thought it was a recipy bought from basil.

Also noticed Fiends/Beasts will not be optimal damage on, but if I manage to stay away from those, id be fine ;D

um

A Blackhawk is an upgraded Antigua, which is a boss reward. This has not changed since Spiral Knights launched.

Edit: Beasts are no problem at all --- their AI was weakened a few months ago, to the point where I don't even pay attention while fighting them --- but fiends are really nasty. You might consider getting a piercing gun for fiend-heavy levels, or a piercing sword or bomb. Piercing swords in particular are really powerful and really easy to use.

Token stuff comes bound. Except the rock salt. You have to unbind the armors and weaps.

Jikes, thinks people kinda payed attention to the wrong things here :|

Still lost about the damage to fiends/beasts with this setup thou.
Is it a that huge difference that its almost worth getting a third gun for them specifically?

For fiends, yes, they are

For fiends, yes, they are painful enough that you will want some way to get rid of them quickly.
