First and Second
I really like the first one- you did a good job layering all of the different environment components.
... the second one looks more like your friendly chat with a group of gremlins, or a board meeting with weapons or something. Next time, try using the animations to show that your character is at the ready, at least, rather than just standing there with his weapon and shield down looking at everyone. Even the gremlins look like they're just chillin'.

It's all in the eyes
To build on what Amewfox said, if you're handy with a mouse (or whatever you use with your computer), making new eyes is actually really easy. You can even do it in MS Paint if you don't have another program.
