The thing in this game that makes it different from other MMORPGs is that it is a combination of Sci-fi and Fantasy. There's high tech weapons, clockwork machines, robots, and spaceships (skylark) but also things like the Undeads, Konjuring Kat, Arcane Salamander set, and Magic set.

With the clockworks theme and all taking over, shouldn't there be a bit more magic stuff? I don't mean spells or anything (we already have vials) but magic-themed gear and enemies.

Some ideas for "magic" stuff:

--Wrench wand alchemy line

--New zone: Mystic Woods. Blue-ish version of GWW inhabited by....

--New enemy: Small, robe-covered thing with a staff and wizard hat. (No name ATM) Functions like a cross between Chroma and Gun puppy. (particle shot, but can move)

--Reintroduce Sleep as a status cast by the wizard things.

Well, if you replay all the tutorial misions, it's explained that magic definitely doesnt exist, but it's just advanced energy manipulation, if that makes any more sense.

Yes, there IS some form of magic, I think.

Divine beings? Swords which slew ancient monsters? Vanaduke and the Deity he met? (See FSC's wiki page) This is DEFINITELY some form of magic. The one guy in the earlier mission may have disregarded the idea of magic in the game, but are you sure that's not just him? What if he doesn't think any of that exists? Anyway, I don't think we need more of it. This game isn't supposed to have lots of magic. Having a small amount seems to fit better. You'll notice the only forms of magic in the game is either evil or it's old. Wrench wand doesn't really need an upgrade, although seeing 3* would be awesome. Also, the wand isn't a magic wand. I think it's just a healing device in the shape of a wand.

Also, you guys need to remember: Attempting to make people agree with you using logic always ends better than shouting no. Imagine: those who put down your ideas originally AGREE with you instead of shouting louder that your ideas are bad. Even if people make you mad, keeping cool is more important, IMHO.

His point exactly. 'Advanced Energy Manipulation' =/= Magic. They're a bunch of sci-fi beings from a technologically advanced race of warlike tendencies, what would they do with magic?

Also, search bar for all the threads of Magic being shot down daily.

On another note, 'Divine'=/='Magic'. Divine is spiritual, and although Magic and spiritual things often co-exist, they are not necessarily the same thing. Religious people don't possess powers of levitation, not as far as I hear anyway, and ghosts just...mess with stuff, but not with magic, so having some sort of spiritual influence is not akin to magic.

Anyway, yeah, the Owlites had magic, probably Harry-Potter-fantasy-style magic. Or at least they had a primitive way to utilize advanced energy manipulation. Either way, the forces behind their fall were dark in nature, and probably related to the Magikats/Spookats (because the OBNOXIOUS BOMB-DODGING LITTLE ****S ARE EVERYWHERE in Candlestick Keep). Perhaps Knights will fight the ghosts of vengeful or renegade Owlite wizards? I actually had a few boss ideas of that nature...

Knights will probably not have access to anything more magical than Owlite gear. The Wrench Wand probably doesn't have magic... or does it? Menders used to be able to use 'Magic Missile' to attack. At any rate, the Wrench Wand you get can't heal, and is really only for dismantling robots; I doubt that wand really has much, if any, magic in it.

It's a win-win situation.

If we get magic and Polaris gets curse, Polaris will be horrendously overpowered and Polaris users are happy
If we don't get magic, the status quo is maintained and all snarky people are pleased

there is one little thing that ruined the whole level suggestion: sleep. leave that status to extremely rare slooms, or everyone will be sorry.
i like the wrench line idea though.

If thought out right, a MAGIC-LIKE system would work. Weak forms of mist energy to replace mana, stuff like that. FANTASY magic, no.
