Do people who previously bought the Guardian Pack get the Silver Keys?
If they don't, is this fair?
What do you think of the addition of the silver keys to the pack?
New Addition to the Guardian Pack
I was wondering also about the keys. I bought it just before the promo ended, and would love silver keys!!
this isn't fair. you cant just add something to make it worth the $40 after, when it was supposed to be a "$40 value for $20".
To be fair, in their eyes, at market value, the stuff IS worth ~40 dollars, if only barely. That being said, from a player's perspective, the stuff ISNT worth 40 dollars, so they're forced to up the ante, so to speak.
About the items technically being worth the money (but not really): That's why I did not buy the pack, even with the box promo.
However, I'm still curious about those who've previously bought.
Oh, I think the pack was excellent for 20 dollars during the box promo. You get FOUR boxes, at 3k CE a pop, that's 12k CE already, which makes up for the... 2.5k CE you lose vs buying a 20 dollar pack.
TBH, I can see why they're adding the silver keys, and I really don't mind, as I feel like I've already gotten my money's worth from FOUR boxes for the price that'd give you 2 boxes. Without the promo boxes... eh... ymmv. I might have anyways, just because costumes. But it's a lot less clearcut at that price. 2.5k CE vs 5 mist tanks, 4 costumes, ele pass (which makes it pretty worth it), and a stupid heat amp. I did gift a few of these to friends, because they were in the position of "has no money and thus cannot get an ele pass normally".
I don't think this is fair, however I doubt OOO will do anything about it.
This happens a lot in other circumstances, too. However, that doesn't make it fair or pleasant...
Then changes in pack has been released, I guess no any pack holders got in-game mail with 4 keys, so I dunno if someone who buyed pack before it's update get those keys.
Actually, OOO must be interested in fixing game economy, so I'm not really feel like such changes are odd or something. In-game prices on energy become way too high than in first game-life year, there's need more cheap in-game energy, or more promos to make peoples be more interested in actual money spending. Promo energy must help with doing energy more cheap... but it's not help that much on now, I guess.
It's feel not really fair that peoples who already got pack will not get keys, but actually there's no any drama or tragedy in it. I just wonder if keys will be given or not.
OOO, it's your turn.
How is it unfair? You guys paid $20 and got 4 nemesis boxes. The pack is now $40 and has 4 silver keys. I'm pretty damn sure the 4 nemesis boxes you got (at half off!) is much more valuable than 4 silver keys.
Given that until (around) now you got nemesis boxes with them it seems fair to me.
Though if I was given 4 silver keys I wouldn't reject them.
Duke, the boxes were a promo, not part of the pack. So it isn't counted into the cost/value of it if you name it promo, and it was temporary.
However, they are changing the pack now after so many people have bought it with something that is not promo and a natural part of the pack.
I think the pack would be more popular if it was... well... still 20 dollars, or even bump that up a little, but not 40. Just on the basis that the heat amp by itself is valued so high to OOO, but near worthless to us, there's a very large disparity in the perceived value of the pack. 4 silver keys really doesn't bridge that gap, and no, I don't think it's particularly fair, but to be totally honest, I would buy the pack again at 20 dollars, during the promo, and I wouldn't have bought the pack now, at 40 dollars. Simply put, 5k CE for 40 dollars is much too little.
The guardian pack really needed something to make the new, higher price point worth it.
People who purchased it at $20 got a pretty good deal, and it's nice to see that OOO took another look at the contents once the price went up. I tend to appreciate items that offer direct gameplay value, and I'm not totally sold on the idea of adding 4 more silver keys- which are basically a chance at another cosmetic item. But it's a lot better than nothing.
Well, 40 bux buys you 15k CE about nowadays.
So, instead 10k CE (the difference between the two), on a onetime shot, you get...
30 day heat amp (totally not worth 5k CE, but it's priced at that)
30 day ele pass ($6, which is... eh, 2k CE about as a high estimate?)
5 mist tanks (500 CE about, given that you can use them for crafting etcetc)
4 costumes (ymmv)
and now...
4 keys (750 CE each, so 3k CE total)
Given that a 30 day heat amp is quite possibly the biggest waste of CE I have ever seen, I STILL don't think the pack is worth it at all, unless if you need the costumes.
