Now that I've unlocked FSC, I can farm to my heart's content. The problem is... I don't know what to go for first... Right now, I have a Divine Avenger and a Strike Needle. Main problem is, I can only effectively take care of one branch. I'm pretty much screwed against a bunch of devilites with my Strike Needle. Is the BTB useful? I'm a hybrid all-around player, able to use all three types of weapons - not really "good", but good enough. Should I get a shadow weapon, and if so, which one? Swords are my best bet, and I already have a sealed sword (should I stick with it because I'm already accustomed to DA's speed?), but I want a fast weapon, and I want to try to get better at using bombs/guns. I also already own a Shadowtech Alchemer and a Catalyzer, but does an Umbra do enough DPS for me to be able to solo JK and is the Biohazard thing worth it? If not, is there a F2P shadow-dealing bomb? Or should I try to get a status bomb? I have a Static Capacitator, but I might go for a Shiver instead... What combinations of weapons will help me the most? Should I stick with my Strike Needle for my piercing damage or move to a different weapon? Should I switch out my DA with one of the Brandish lines? What can I get for a good shadow-damage dealer (really want a bomb, but if not, a gun, and if that doesn't help enough, I can look towards swords)? Lastly, should I invest in a 4th weapon slot, and if so, what should I use for that? Should I keep a status bomb for that or maybe a Polaris?

I have the Divine Veil + Skolver combination with a GOS with a nice UV Shadow Defense Med and Elemental Defense Low. Don't know if that will help choose, but just in case.

One more thing: What are some fun/annoying/creative/fun loadouts that I can use when I'm bored? I kinda like Catalyzer+Vortex, what are some others?

Please help enlighten me with your suggestions and opinions. Started the game about a month ago, and I really like this game. Put in more than 7 hours a day into the game when I could, capping at 14 hours. I want to maximize my playing experience and have fun while owning some monsters, while having a epic weapon loadout for safe games.

BTB is always useful (except, well, against constructs and slimes, but that goes without saying).

BTB would actually be what I would suggest the most as a compliment to Divine Avenger. It deals with everything Divine Avenger doesn't. You can also get a Final Flourish, whose recipes are in HoH.

Processing Thoughts of You Always

Probably Acheron, given your current loadout.
Either that or a Sentenza/Umbra Driver - whichever gun type you feel more comfortable with.

Mahkookeh, my sword guide is written for people like you. Yes, Barbarous Thorn Blade (or Final Flourish) works extremely well against devilites; in fact, these may be the most overpowered swords in the game. No, there is no reason to restrict yourself to slow swords; you can freely mix and match. The guide also addresses your Brandish vs. DA question and some sidearm considerations.

Just start buying gear everywhere, and keep up the farming.

Craft ALL the things!

@Bopp Your guide tells me

@Bopp Your guide tells me about swords vs swords, but what I really want to know is the comparison between swords vs bombs vs guns in different situations, and one that fits quite well in my loadout with which types of damage is most useful. Such as whether BTB or Blitz is better for my loadout, as I go on FSC a lot, and since people say that BTB is a very good sword, will its DPS be enough to substitute it in for a Blitz?

You cant compare much, they are different playstyles alltogether.

Guns are generally weaker, but have range as an advanatge. You should have bring one to kill far-away turrets, but aside from that, on the topic "sword vs guns" it all goes down to personal preferences.

Blitz has lots of damage, good for big and slow things. But you'll rage agaisnt a horde of devilites.

About most bombs... you cant really compare them to swords either. They are designed to support, not to kill.

piercing weapons for FSC

Mahkookeh, here's my view on piercing weapons for FSC.

Vanaduke is difficult (but not impossible) to fight with swords, because you have to manage the fireballs. So you want a gun. If you're in a group, then the group will probably be using the freeze-charge strategy. That is, you want a gun with the biggest possible charge attack against a monster that's weak to piercing. That's easily Blitz Needle. On the other hand, if you're solo, then you probably want an easy, mobile gun, such as Argent Peacemaker or Polaris.

For the rest of FSC, you need no gun at all. If you're in a group, then Blitz Needle is a great way to take out trojans. If you're solo, then FF/BTB may be even better for taking out trojans. It's safe and effective. I prefer it when solo, anyway.
