This is another misc story, I'm right now juggling CC3 and A Knight's Tale (both of which I'm holding back on) so I guess this can work for now.

Prologue

The swarm has been a fascinating topic for me to research, however it is very dangerous to analyze it. Me and my friend will head into the middle of swarm territory to research this mysterious essence. I'm worried this might be my downfall, since I was never good with combat, just research. I'm just lucky that I have friends to help me, because they were always better than me.

My name is Tyler, and I'm a swarm researcher. Today, me, my friends Mark, Storm and Alec will come with me to investigate the swarm, and find some details about it.

Hopefully this story will actually last through the whole story, unlike a majority of the other fanfics out there(talkin to ya LoN, Dyrus, Shadownox, Isekube, Toruchi, and other things)

And so... catching on to this story, is there going to be Apps?

Chapter I: Preparations

Today is quite a sunny day outside, but I won't be seeing this weather for another three weeks. This job is quite dangerous, so we've all gotten prepared to storm a shadow lair, enter the highest concentration of it and discover some info about it. Me and Mark were talking for a while about which one to do.
"The frozen tundra should be easy!"
"No! I think the factory would be best!"
"Alright, both of you, that's enough, just let Tyler pick." We heard Alec telling us just to let me choose which one. "I say the factory."
"Your funeral." Of course I wasn't going to get harmed that bad, I was wearing a divine set with a grey owlite shield. There would be no way I could die out there. Mark was the team striker, wearing a vog cub set, having a barbarous thorn shield and mainly wielding swords. Storm had a Nameless set on with a Grey Owlite Shield. The same as me. Interesting.

Alec was busy doing something with his friends, so I decided to contact him.
"Alec, come over here. We've decided we're going to the Roarmulus Twins Shadow Lair." I told him over the comlink.
"I'll be there quickly." Sure enough, Alec arrived. He was wearing a Royal Jelly set with a Royal Jelly shield. He wielded mainly bombs, but kept a polaris handy. I only had two weapons, a Voltedge and a Umbra Driver. Me and my pals were ready to do what no knight has done before.

Chapter II: Into The Storm

We got on the lift after I had bought a key to unlock the lair. Then we got on.
"Hit the button that says 23!" Alec teases.
"Alright, fine." I tap the button and our lift begins to fall. It seems to fall for hours. I take a look at my key, unsure if I'll be able to get to the level where the swarm infests. It feels like 10 years, but we finally land on the floor we planned to go to. I run to the north, my friends pursuing behind me and I notice the factory room. Me and my friends walk over.
"Are you sure Tyler?"
"I am. Let's just get this done and over with."

I put the key into the keyhole and turn it. The lock and chains vanish and we're free to go. We step on the lift and descend. This will be the most fun of our lives.

Chapter III: A Burning Factory

We arrive down, but it doesn't look the same. Fire grates and red rovers are everywhere. I gulp.
"Let's go smack some buds." Mark pulls out a Divine Avenger and charges at a Rover. I pull out my Umbra Driver and begin shooting any gremlins that come our way. We step on a party button while looking around and then waves after waves of oilers ran at us.
"Crap!"
"There's so many!"
"How do we kill them all?"
"Let's just run for it!" We dart across the room to the exit as the oilers run for us. They begin to merge and merge until it becomes one big oiler with a crown on it.
"Run!" I shout, shooting it with my Polaris. Alec and Storm shoot too, and Mark begins shooting Gran Faust charges at it. We finally take it out and it explodes into oil. Then a fire grate sets it on fire and it sets us on fire too. I feel intense pain from the burning and I try and roll it off, but it's burning on me like it can't be put out. I begin pleading in hushed whispers.
"Dear Isora, please let this end!"

The fire goes out, and we're surrounded by a ring of shadow fire. Retrodes, Mecha Knights and Scuttlebots begin rushing at us. We've had quite enough and I feel like I wanna pass out.

That's when we accidentally turn out the power. By hitting one small button.

Chapter IV: Total Panic

Only the shadow fire lit the way for us as we walked through the derelict factory. I stumbled off a broken portion of a bridge.
"AAAAH!" I scream as I'm falling, but then clutched by Storm.
"I have you!" Storm pulls me back up, then shoots his Polaris to guide us through. We stumble onto a useless switch. Curiously, I hit it with my Voltedge. Oilers appear and then they are ignited. Gremlin Scorchers ignited them and began slicking oil everywhere. We panic and run. Then we see them. Thousands. All out for our blood.

Gremlins.

I quickly shoot my umbra driver and then run, we hit a switch, it blocks the gremlins and the lasers. The buzzing sound hurts my ears as we head for the lift. It lowers and we reach the accursed room of the Roarmulus Twins. We decided to try and get out before the gremlins spot us and kill us using the Roarmulus Twins.

Chapter V: The Red Roarmulus Twins

Me and my friends step on the button, expecting the usual battle. But when the twins open their eyes, I see nothing blue from them.

They're blazing orange. And it means that they upgraded it. To mercilessly kill everyone. Even me. A black, shadowy field appears and we're scrambling for the switches. We hit them and the usual happens. Mark kept a watch on the field because it kept slowing us down. Then, a firey laser almost charred my left arm as I'm pulled under by Alec.

"Be more alert next time, Tyler."

Alec said, sighing. I shoot a Cinderbot who was ready to burn us and it explodes, elecrtically charging the laser, but damaging the twin that fired it. As it kept firing, it began to get more and more damaged until it exploded into a fireball. Without it's twin, the other exploded normally and fell to the bottom. We grab our tokens and run for treasure.

"Alright, let's get this treasure and go to the floor we need to go to." I say. "I have a bad feeling about this..." I think to myself. I run and pop a few boxes before we all step on the lift.
