Do you think Spiral Knights wikipedia is popular? What you think OOO should do to make it more popular? Do you think that SK wikipedia should be popular amongst players?

I think Spiral Knights wikipedia is not really popular. Look at all those questions that can be answered just by looking something up there. Also very few people have their own wiki pages or guild pages. Imo OOO should do something to make wikipedia more popular.

For example send a system mail from Spiral HQ with short notice about benefits coming from wikipedia, abilities (guild and user pages).

I totally think that SK wikipedia should be popular amongst players. The more informed community of players the better for game. It would not only reduce amount of really simple question of forum but it may lead to improve the quality of suggestions and discussion on forum. Also Making wikipedia more popular, and making people know that they can create guild pages and user pages would improve communication and social interaction between players. T

There would be less negative anonymity, if more guild pages would appear and more users would have their userpages there would be no problem to find who is guild master, who is this player, communication would be better and it would be easier to plan things like events and contests.

What do you think?

Blah blah blah, TIDAL WAVE!

I don't believe the SK wiki is as popular as it should be as there's a honking right next to the forums, which also isn't very popular, and yet people post their simple questions here instead of doing some research. It's sad that everything has to be spoon feed to some of these new players with short and simple answers instead of doing some research. I don't know how many times I've explained crafting or that you shouldn't go to the shadow lairs if you don't know what they are or that I can't give you my 5* sword because it's bound and you don't have enough crowns to buy it. Imagine the next generation of SK not having a single Shadow Lair armor because they don't know what the arcade is. Hilarious, sad but hilarious.

The tutorial should include something to force you to go to the wiki page and look some stuff up like crafting, upgrading your equipment, energy, the arcade, etc, and pass a quiz at the end. Clearly, crafting a hot edge and frost gun doesn't help them much.

I think the front page of the wiki should also have guides like Bopp's sword guide or the Bombing guide, having those will eliminate a lot of "which brandish" or "what gun should i get" kind of questions that have been answered to death and back.

Really, the wiki was and still is a excellent resource I use to decide on my next armor set or which bomb I want next and should be utilized by all players.

To be honest I think the simple act of putting the Wiki button there on the front page should be enough, but I guess for this community it isn't... Seriously, how hard is it to click that link? It's right there. Maybe if they psychedelic'd it up or something... But maybe mentioning it as a resource in-game would be a good idea too.

It's pretty good

I really like the wiki! The swordie/gunner/bomber guides are really good.
Now if only OOO developers would read the wiki and buff up all the crappy but cool weapons in the game...

Many newbies need to look on the Wiki.
OOO should put flashy messages everywhere in Haven "WANNA KNOW MORE GO TO THE WIKI K?".

Sadly, they can't do more, yep.

Idk, I mean they do have a tip to check out the wiki during the loading screen. I think it's just that people are lazy and would rather post a question and have other people tell them the answer, then take 5 minutes to find it themselves.

Or....

Or maybe 90% of new players are using the wiki and many of you are thinking that the 10% who ask questions in the forums represents everyone. (Of course I made the numbers up, but nonetheless, we don't really know this.)

Guild pages and self pages are not really "useful," so it's understandable that they're not updated by all the guilds and such.

+1 to ndogten
They need to give direct links, yes.
