why is it people are like oh the prisma line sucks? honestly, if you want status effects, get a freaking sword. If the guns are similar to the swords, the elemental damage dealt will be slightly less with cyro/firo/storm. to me it seems the best for elemental damage. idk, what do you guys think?

the main reason i'm asking is because i got stuck with a prismatech alchemer when a buyer backed out. it has UV CTR very high, which could make for a decent seller in upgraded forms, but no one wants them

brandish and flourish lines both have status effect swords. why use a gun for that? use a gun for elemental range, shadow range, or piercing damage. and to me the nova driver looks like it would have the best elemental range, so why do people say it sucks?

This is because the Fire/Freeze/Shock alchemers all appear to have the same base power as the Prisma. On top of that those alchemers have usefull status attacks while the Prisma has nothing.

It got the short end of the stick during balancing when Elemental was changed to be super effective vs undead. Before then it had a damage bonus for undead, but the way the damage currently works it would have been overpowered. There was a time in Preview when I used a Magma Driver with a High Undead Bonus, the damage output was incredible.

You know, the alchimers came into power BECAUSE status effects became all the more important.
There's only 1 series of swords that can inflict Ice, no endgame shock swords...
To be fair most people invested in Alchimers/Haze Bombs to cover for status effects.

Gran Faust is the only weapon that can curse, for now...

I like them.

Personaly I like them with their high elemental attack.

I also only use the cryo and others for annoying people in lockdown.

Dude, this thread is almost seven months old. This was pre-Prisma buff, so the gun did the same damage as the others--not really a complaint anymore.
