I recently looked at my play time, and it read a solid 43 days. Forty-three days! I've been playing since around this time in april of last year, making that around 16 months ago.
Some basic math...
16 months x 30 days per month (an estimation) = 480 days
43 days x 24 hours per day = 1032 hours
1032 hours/480 days = 2.15 hours per day
At this point, I made a start. Average of two hours per day?! Am I out of my freaking mind? 2.15 hours a day tacked onto my steam playtime along with other assorted gaming equals 3-4 hours of gaming a day. For a student, I think that this is unacceptable. If I used that 3-4 hours a day on other things, I would be stronger academically and would be able to get more rest. In terms of what I need in my life, I don't think gaming cuts it. As a result, I will be investing the time I free up from not gaming into social outings with friends and loved ones, and doing the things I think I ought to be doing in this stage in my life. This doesn't mean that I'm quitting, but it does mean that I'll primarily be playing over the weekends, and for much shorter periods of time.
Why the heck did I post this on the forums? Well, I want you guys to make sure I commit to this. Every person who reminds me to get off Spiral Knights if I've been playing for more than 5-10 minutes on the GMT+8 weekdays/1 hour on the weekends will be rewarded. I mean it, be expecting a gift of gratitude in items or CE.
Also, I'm sure you guys have had your own experiences concerning this :) I've seen quite a few on the forums. I'd be interested in hearing them.
I'm glad to have met my friends while gaming here, but it's time to go. See you guys later, you're a sweet bunch. Etendue out.
If you've reminded me ingame, please post here so I don't lose track of who I've yet to gift.
