Hey, I'm not really much of a bomber but I figured instead of complaining, I'd throw out some questions/other things assuming the bombs continue on as they are.
- Are all the bombs comparable/same in damage, or do some of them deal more raw damage (ex: does the Deadly Shard Bomb (normal) do more neutral damage than the Scintillating Crystal Shards(pierce)? Deadly Dark Matter Bomb(shadow) more powerful than Shocking Salt Bomb(shadow)?)
- What kind of effective damage numbers are we expecting from 5* ELEMENTAL bomb (ex: the 5* Deadly Crystal Bomb) for say, fighting undeads?
- What kind of damage are we expecting from the Deadly Crystal bomb (elemental) and the Shocking Salt Bomb (shadow) in PVP?
Alright, so I'm asking these because of these ideas/possibilities:
- Just like choosing between a status or damage-alchemer, that question may have to be asked for bombs now.
- I'm curious to know what kinda effective damage the 5* effective bombs can do. I'm not really interested in knowing how well a piercing weapon does against undeads.
And for the one thing I can almost inject my own opinion about:
I see a bunch of complaining about the RSS being weak in PVP, but then I look around and I wonder:
What are you expecting using a 4* PIERCING WEAPON against PIERCING ARMOR?? derps. I use guns smartly and I wouldn't dare use a mega magnus in T3 PVP and expect good results. Heck, I wouldn't even use Callahan unless my team's overpowered.
RSS shone partly because of its elemental damage, since Skolver doesn't have elemental defense. So how does the DCB do?
After that, how about the SSB? ;/

My input:
Also, I believe that if shard bombers want their chance to shine in PVP again, it will come in the form of the SSB.
Why?
If any of you have seen me in Lockdown, you may notice that I am a recon-gunner, and I will use storm driver if I want to win (unless you're vog, in which case I use Umbra). The main reason for this is because shock (among other statuses?) remove invincibility frames in the short moment while someone is in their shock animation.
If you've played long enough to complain about RSS and Lockdown, you may remember the week when the invincibility frames were accidentally disabled from Lockdown. People would die almost instantly from multi-hit attacks. Sudaruska charge actually hit BOTH parts of its charge, and it was good; RSS would instakill anyone making the mistake of stepping through the middle. We got a peek at what it would be like without the limiters. Shock removes the limits, so I believe the SSB can pull off a similar effect in Lockdown.
The new shard bombs are laughably weak in PvP for the same reasons as PvE
-Small effective zone
-2(!) fuses per bomb
-Fuse(s) is(are) long enough to walk out of the blast(s)
